Book Description
These are exciting times to be living in. It is just before Jesus Christ returns to be the King of kings and Lord of lords. There are many signs that point to this, and I discuss a few of them in this book. Im not going to tell you when this happens, because Jesus didn't know when he was here on earth. He said it was not for us to know. But Im sure He knows now, as He sits at the right hand of God the Father. One of the ways we know that the time is near is that knowledge has increased dramatically in the last fifty years. Ultimately it all points to God as the creator of the universe. We have the internet to dispense our knowledge, and it is pretty much worldwide. This is one of the ways that an imposter known as the Anti-Christ will take over a worldwide government that has been established and set up his own regime. Everyone will know this is their leader, because it will be broadcast by satellite. My advice is to read this book to decipher what the Bible says about these exciting times we are living in. As one of my favorite contemporary Christian music groups, Whiteheart, said in the title of one of their albums, Read the book, dont wait for the movie.

Book Description
I began this book with a treatise that explains where we are in local church history. It is chapter one of part one. But then in chapter two I explain why Israel is as important to Jesus Christ as His Church is. However, there is a third part of the Kingdom of God that is just as important and loved by Jesus as the other two. I explain this in detail in section one also. In part two I have included two treatises that I wrote in 1976. They give further insight about the nation of Israel. And lastly, I end with two short stories about Christians who are living for Jesus and are doing ‘God’s work’ in today’s world. It is part three of this book. So, I began writing about the local church and end writing about it.

Reformed Systematic Theology, Volume 3
Author: Joel Beeke
Publisher: Crossway
ISBN: 1433559943
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 1061
Book Description
"Here is catechesis at its best, instructing the student of theology, providing pastors with a sermon-enriching manual, and giving growing Christians a resource book that will both inform and nourish them, as well as provide endless theological enjoyment!" — Sinclair B. Ferguson, Chancellor's Professor of Systematic Theology, Reformed Theological Seminary; Teaching Fellow, Ligonier Ministries The aim of systematic theology is to engage not only the head but also the heart and hands. Only recently has the church compartmentalized these aspects of life—separating the academic discipline of theology from the spiritual disciplines of faith and obedience. This multivolume work brings together rigorous historical and theological scholarship with spiritual disciplines and practical insights—characterized by a simple, accessible, comprehensive, Reformed, and experiential approach. In this volume, Joel R. Beeke and Paul M. Smalley unpack the work and role of the Holy Spirit (Pneumatology) and salvation (soteriology). The authors examine the Holy Spirit's role in the history of salvation, the order of salvation, and the believers' experience of salvation. As readers consider the interrelationship between the Spirit and salvation, they are invited to explore the direct activity of the Lord in their lives for their salvation.

Predestination in Early Modern Reformed Theology
Author: Richard A. Muller
Publisher: Reformation Heritage Books
ISBN:
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 238
Book Description
In the newest Reformed Historical-Theological Study, Dr. Richard A. Muller delves into one of the most controversial doctrines of Reformed Theology: predestination. Muller carefully investigates key incidents that illustrate the doctrine’s complexity and development by surveying Reformed thought on predestination in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Along the way, Muller challenges distorted ideas about the placement of predestination in theological systems, naïve readings of Calvin based solely on his Institutes, simplistic representations of supra- and infralapsarian debates, and uncharitable views of Reformed theologians as hyper-dogmatists obsessed with their own tradition.

The American Pietism of Cotton Mather
Author: Richard F. Lovelace
Publisher: Wipf and Stock Publishers
ISBN: 1725219514
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 360
Book Description
Cotton Mather is probably best known for his contributions to the Puritanism of colonial America. Yet the subject of this book is Mather's theology of Christian experience, usually associated with continental Pietism, a dynamic movement of reform and renewal in the Lutheran church. Richard Lovelace summarizes the basic thrust of Mather's treatment of spiritual rebirth, sanctification, pastoral and social ministry, the need for spiritual awakening, and the effects he believed this awakening should produce in Christianity and the mission of the church. In Mather, the two great strains of American Evangelical Protestantism--Puritanism and Pietism--were combined, influencing Jonathan Edwards and American religion in general throughout the Great Awakening and subsequent revivals. Thus, the book is unique in tracing the roots of modern Evangelicalism beyond nineteenth-century Arminianism to the seventeenth- and eighteenth-century blend of Puritant-Pietist thought.
