Book Description
This project addressed the need for parental and family support in providing a language-rich home environment that promotes critical early literacy pre-reading skills that research has identified as predictors of future reading achievement. Parents and caregivers of children from infancy through age five have a unique opportunity to incorporate various activities that build oral language, phonological and phonemic awareness, concepts about print, and alphabetic knowledge. Through interactions ranging from reading books, singing, playing with sounds, talking, and bringing attention to words and letters in print, parents and caregivers can begin building their child's reading brain before they enter school. This project includes an early literacy website that houses tips, activities, digital resources, and links to evidence-based online resources. This website consists of a free resource library with a downloadable parent/family handbook with information and activities parents can use at home to build early literacy skills. In addition, there are two digital literacy kits that contain over one hundred pages of resources and materials that parents can print and use at home with their children; as a result, all stakeholders benefit when teachers proactively build the home-school connection early in a child's development.

Read Along or Enhanced eBook: Day One I swam around my bowl. Day Two I swam around my bowl. Twice. And so it goes in this tell-all tale from a goldfish. With his bowl to himself and his simple routine, Goldfish loves his life..until one day... When assorted intruders including a hyperactive bubbler, a grime-eating snail, a pair of amorous guppies, and a really crabby crab invade his personal space and bowl, Goldfish is put out, to say the least.
