Padma Vibhushan Sri K. G. Subramanyan popularly known as Mani Da among his students, was a professor in painting at Kala Bhavan, Santiniketan. He is one of the eminent artists of Independent India. He was a Gandhian and had a unique outlook apart from being very witty. Sanjay Singh is an artist who studied at Kala Bhavan while Mani Da was teaching there.
