This is mainly the story of Archibald Macnab, born 1777, nephew of Francis Macnab, chief of the clan Macnab. He was acknowledged as clan chief in 1816 when Francis died. He married a Miss Robertson of Edinburgh and by her had eight children, but seven died in infancy. The surviving child, Sarah Ann died in 1894. Archibald died in Lanion, France in 1860 at the age of 83 years.
