Book Description
In 'Another Way of Looking at Love', the landscape is explored as a metaphor to consider the personal, societal, and environmental consequences of disconnection, and simultaneously, our yearning to be connected. From 2015-2018, Janelle Lynch (born 1969) has used an 8 x 10 camera to create still lives in the landscape that combine similar and disparate visual and biological elements. This process begins by identifying details in nature that, based on a unique vantage point, created geometric formations of closure. The connective point, or nucleus, that is created by the union becomes the artist?s plane of focus. The work is informed by Lynch?s recent immersion in drawing and painting from perception, primarily by charcoal mark-making?a new aspect of her practice that has allowed for a deeper inquiry into the nature of seeing, such as: formal abstraction, color relativity, and the notion of relationality.

Book Description
Imagine being born into a world where fitting in was never an option. Michele Sullivan, one of the most powerful women in philanthropy, was born with a rare form of dwarfism. Meaning she has spent her entire life looking up. As the first female president of the Caterpillar Foundation, she has used her unique point of view to impact countless lives around the world. As a child, Michele decided to life a life of meaning, by: Tailoring her differences into something more suitable for the world. Hiding from the world and live on the fringe. Embracing her differences to turn them into assets. Recognize that there was a strength within her that could help others. Looking Up is the story of how Michele became the smallest woman at the largest earth-moving manufacturer in the world. While her height has presented challenges that are different from most, it has allowed her to see things that others do not, literally and figuratively. Embedded in this narrative are unique (and often hilarious) takeaways for individuals about the importance of making the first move, being wrong at first, choosing intimacy over influence, and learning that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.

Book Description
Can you imagine what it feels like to watch your spouse die? Have you ever wondered how you would handle the loss of your husband, wife, or child? Love Your Guts Out chronicles the experiences of the author as he watched his wife (Toni) die from breast cancer. Inspired by her example in life and death, the author describes how his journey of grief led him into the depths of his soul. It was a journey that brought him to a place of desperation to find meaning in life after his wife lost hers. The soul-searching questions he presents in this book brought him face to face with a reality that can only be encountered on the inside of the human soul. Before tragedy strikes, the author encourages the reader to travel this inner road where we find an unlimited resource. He writes that human beings are intrinsically designed for love and explains that the path to experiencing an abundant life requires losing your life—to “love your guts out.”
