Book Description
In his previously written articles and books, Chris Edwards has argued that Teaching should be considered a field that is separate from both the field of Education and from the content area fields. Teaching is a field which synthesizes content and method for classroom application. All of the other major intellectual fields have a canon of works which practitioners can learn from and add to, but Teaching does not. The Connecting-the-Dots in World History: A Teacher’s Literacy-Based Curriculum series changes this by showing how effective a teacher-generated curriculum can be. These books can inspire other teachers to create their own curriculums and inspire a change in the way that the public views teachers and teaching.

Book Description
William A. Pettigrew and David Veevers put forward a new interpretation of the role Europe’s overseas corporations played in early modern global history, recasting them from vehicles of national expansion to significant forces of global integration. Across the Mediterranean, Atlantic, Indian Ocean and Pacific, corporations provided a truly global framework for facilitating the circulation, movement and exchange between and amongst European and non-European communities, bringing them directly into dialogue often for the first time. Usually understood as imperial or colonial commercial enterprises, The Corporation as a Protagonist in Global History reveals the unique global sociology of overseas corporations to provide a new global history in which non-Europeans emerged as key stakeholders in European overseas enterprises in the early modern world. Contributors include: Michael D. Bennett, Aske Laursen Brock, Liam D. Haydon, Lisa Hellman, Leonard Hodges, Emily Mann, Simon Mills, Chris Nierstrasz, Edgar Pereira, Edmond Smith, Haig Smith, and Anna Winterbottom.

Book Description
The Circle of Knowledge is an informative book that was designed in 1917, to be both inspiring and entertaining. The book represents the modern, progressive spirit which fits that time, in its forms of expression and its editorship. The purpose of this work is to answer the why, who, what, when, where, how of the wide majority of curious minds, both young and adult, and encourage them to raise further questions. Special measures were taken in creating this work to isolate essentials from non-essentials; to differentiate human interest subjects of universal significance from those of little concern; to deliver living truths instead of dead vocabulary; and finally, to bring the whole within the knowledge of the intermediate reader, without regard to age, in an acceptable and exciting form. The use of visual outlines and tables; maps, drawings, and diagrams; the illustrated works of great painters, sculptors, and architects all are used to give the reader the valuable and cultural knowledge of past and present.

Book Description
This book is a translation of the History of Adyghe Literature, which was published in three volumes (1999, 2002, and 2006, respectively) by the Institute of Humanitarian Studies of the Republic of Adygea by the decision of its scientific council. It covers the history of Adyghe literature from folklore up to the 1990s, which passed through difficult and complicated trials in order to survive and reach its present stage of development. This material was prepared and written by a group of literary experts of the Republic of Adygea, and this book shows that (1) Adyghe folklore is, perhaps, the richest and oldest in the world because, according to the experts, the embryo of the Nart saga of this folklore was formed in nearly Bronze Age or earlier; (2) Adyghe literature has dozens of specimens of epic genresessays, short stories, stories, tales, novels, and epicsand analyzes the origin, formation, and development of the kinds, genres, and styles of literature closely combined with specific monographic studies of creative works of separate writers and furnishes major monographic and theoretical studies, critical articles, reviews, and literary portraits; (3) Adyghe literature portrays the dramatic fate, love of freedom, and high moral and spiritual values of the people for whom honor and freedom are dearer than life; and (4) Adyghe literature presents in vivid colors the awesome literary process in Russia, in connection with the theories associated with Prolitcults, Rappovians, class literature, and especially, the conflict-free theory, with rigid ideological settings and frames beyond the bounds of which writers and artists in the Soviet Union could not work in. This book, the first volume of the History of Adyghe Literature, is concluded by the article about the creative works of Tembot Kerashev, one of the prominent Adyghe writer during the Soviet period. Along with the history of Adyghe literature, this book shows the dangerous and difficult lives that people, especially creative people, had to live and work for in the Soviet Union, regardless of the loyalty and dedication with which they served the state or the merits they earned.
