L'actuel Directoire général pour la catéchèse présente le catéchuménat comme modèle inspirateur de toute catéchèse. Les théologiens-catéchètes trouvent dans cette inspiration catéchuménale une solution suggestive pour le domaine catéchétique qui veut répondre aux besoins de l'annonce de la Parole dans un contexte socioculturel fortement sécularisé. Une lecture attentive du Directoire dévoile cependant une ambiguïté dans la présentation de cette notion. D'un côté le catéchuménat est présenté comme modèle de toute catéchèse, de l'autre, on distingue entre la catéchèse d'inspiration catéchuménale et la catéchèse permanente. Pour soutenir que l'ambiguïté de l'inspiration catéchuménale est due à un clivage de la conception catéchétique qui a influencé la rédaction du Directoire, le travail de cette thèse porte sur la recherche du processus de l'élaboration de ce document. Après l'explication de l'ambiguïté de l'inspiration catéchuménale de toute catéchèse et un résumé des réflexions des théologiens-catéchètes sur elle, ce travail présente la recherche des archives de l'un des princiapux auteurs du Directoire, le Card. José Manuel Estepa Llaurens. A partir des documents d'élaboration du Directoire contenus dans ces archives, on présente les travaux sur l'élaboration du Directoire, la recherche sur la généalogie de la signification du modèle catéchuménal inspirateur et la recherche sur les conceptions catéchétiques et leur inspiration catéchuménales.

In today’s world, the boundaries within which Christian theologians operate are becoming ever more permeable, and Christian theology is increasingly influenced and challenged by multiple “outside” factors. In Western Europe, two such factors stand out in particular: the so-called “turn to religion” in continental philosophy and religious diversity. Theologians working with contemporary continental philosophers and theologians engaging the multireligious world tend to work quite separately from one another. The aim of the present book is therefore to initiate a conversation between these two groups of theologians. The question of truth was chosen because it is both a key issue in contemporary-philosophical debates (in the continental and analytic traditions) and one that arises in complex and problematic ways in the praxis of, and theoretical reflection on, interreligious dialogue. Some of the pressing questions that are addressed by the contributors to this volume are: What is truth? What is theological truth? How does the issue of truth arise from interreligious encounter? To what extent can or should the nature of truth be discussed explicitly during interreligious dialogue? Or should the question of truth be rather postponed in the interest of successful interreligious encounter? Is there a hermeneutical concept of truth and, if so, how can it be of help for theological reflection on the question of truth and on the role and place of truth in the context of dialogue between religions?

Why efforts to create a scientific basis of morality are neither scientific nor moral In this illuminating book, James Davison Hunter and Paul Nedelisky trace the origins and development of the centuries-long, passionate, but ultimately failed quest to discover a scientific foundation for morality. The "new moral science" led by such figures as E. O. Wilson, Patricia Churchland, Sam Harris, Jonathan Haidt, and Joshua Greene is only the newest manifestation of that quest. Though claims for its accomplishments are often wildly exaggerated, this new iteration has been no more successful than its predecessors. But rather than giving up in the face of this failure, the new moral science has taken a surprising turn. Whereas earlier efforts sought to demonstrate what is right and wrong, the new moral scientists have concluded, ironically, that right and wrong don't actually exist. Their (perhaps unwitting) moral nihilism turns the science of morality into a social engineering project.
