Este libro retoma la noción ampliada de scholarship de Ernest Boyer y concibe el trabajo académico como un ensamble de elementos heterogéneos que configuran prácticas de docencia, producción de conocimiento especializado y activida-des de liderazgo y gestión para el desarrollo institucional y comu-nitario. Siguiendo el legado de Boyer, propone reconocer el talento y la singularidad del profesorado como vía regia para que las uni-versidades mantengan su pertinencia y respondan a las demandas de su época.
