Cette recherche étudie l'impact d'une surdité de naissance sur les processus de socialisation et de personnalisation de l'adolescent. Nous analysons donc le vécu de l'adolescent sourd à travers son sentiment d'intégration, son estime de soi, son état de stress ainsi que ses conduites de coping mises en place pour faire face à une situation stressante. Nous avons également cherché à cerner l'impact du mode de communication sur ces mêmes processus (comparaison bilinguisme/oralisme). D'autres variables ont été considérées telles que le mode de scolarisation, le degré de surdite, le niveau de compréhension et d'expression du français, le régime scolaire. La population de cette recherche est constituée de 128 adolescents sourds et de 133 adolescents entendants, filles et garçons âgés de 11 à 22 ans. Afin d'évaluer le sentiment d'intégration des adolescents, nous avons procédé à la construction d'une échelle en référence aux théories de la socialisation. Nous avons, par ailleurs utilisé les échelles toulousaines d'estime de soi, de stress et de coping. Contrairement à nos attentes, le sentiment d'intégration au sein de leur famille et en collectivité (école et société) est maintenu malgré les difficultés de communication inhérentes à la surdité. Néanmoin, celle-ci représente un obstacle dans les relations avec les pairs et principalement chez les fille. Les adolescents sourds présentent également un moindre état de stress et une estime de soi équivalente voire plus forte au niveau physique. L'oralisme favorise l'évaluation personnelle et le sentiment d'intégration dans la famille. Par ailleurs, les adolescents sourds contrôlent davantage la situation difficile, mais l'évitent aussi plus fortement que les adolescents entendants. Ces résultats nous amènent donc à conclure que les adolescents sourds sont bien engagés dans le processus de personnalisation. Non seulement, ils sont capables de s'adapter, mais aussi de dépasser leur surdité et de se développer positivement.

The Analyst's Reveries finds increasing veneration for the analyst’s use of their reveries, while revealing important differences amongst post-Bionians in how reverie is defined and used clinically. Fred Busch ponders if it has been fully recognized that some post-Bionions suggest a new, radical paradigm for what is curative in psychoanalysis. After searching for the roots of the analyst’s use of reverie in Bion’s work and questioning whether in this regard Bion was a Bionian, Busch carefully examines the work of some post-Bionians and finds both convincing ways to think about the usefulness and limitations of the analyst’s use of reverie.
