Dado que el perfil académico y profesional del diseño está perfectamente delimitado en el sistema europeo de enseñanza superior, la propuesta consiste en reconocer ese perfil también en la universidad española para poder tener así una titulación equivalente y equiparable con las existentes en el resto de Europa y del mundo. Comienza este trabajo con un análisis de la situación de los estudios correspondientes o afines en Europa (Alemania, Austria, Finlandia, Francia, Reino Unido, Grecia, Holanda e Italia); también se describe el panorama de la situación actual de los estudios superiores de diseño en España. En el capítulo 3o se presenta un estudio sobre oferta y demanda de estudios de diseño dentro de las Facultades de Bellas Artes españolas, así como un estudio de la demanda potencial y de los másteres ofertados. En el capítulo 4o se encuentran los estudios de inserción laboral durante el último quinquenio, así como un panorama de ocupaciones y especializaciones laborales a partir de la información proveniente de las actividades profesionales. El capítulo 5o enumera los principales perfiles profesionales de los titulados en estos estudios; los capítulos 6o al 10o presentan información sobre valoración de las competencias genéricas y específicas y enumeración y clasificación de las mismas. En el apartado 11o se definen los objetivos generales de la titulación; en el 12o se presenta la estructura general del título, en el 13o la distribución, en horas de trabajo del estudiante y la asignación de créditos europeos; y el 14o ofrece los indicadores del proceso de evaluación para garantizar la calidad del título. En el Anexo 1 están las tablas comparativas y en el Anexo 2 están los cuestionarios de empleadores académicos y graduados (Bellas Artes) y el mapa del sistema educativo español para enseñanzas artísticas (por Comunidades Autónomas).

La Conferencia de Decanos de las Facultades de Bellas Artes del Estado Español, siguiendo las directrices de la Declaración de Bolonia, se ha reunido en 6 ocasiones. En estas reuniones analizaron la titulación, valoraron los puntos fuertes y débiles y se hicieron propuestas de mejora. La diferente condición en el ritmo del aprendizaje y en las salidas profesionales de los recorridos de especialización en la titulación de Bellas Artes, justifican la demanda de una titulación diversificada, que contemple tales diferencias: un título de Bellas Artes, otro de Restauración y otro de Diseño. Para el diseño de la titulación de Bellas Artes se siguió la metodología propuesta por la ANECA presentando un análisis de 14 puntos; estos puntos están distribuidos en 4 bloques de contenidos: Del 1 al 4 trata de la fundamentación y análisis respecto al contexto europeo; del 5 al 10 se centran en el cuestionario de inserción laboral, estableciendo un listado de competencias genéricas y otro de competencias específicas; del 11 al 13 se trata del diseño de la titulación, estableciendo los contenidos comunes; el punto 14 es el relacionado con los criterios de calidad. "John Paul Lederach's work in the field of conciliation and mediation is internationally recognized. He has provided consultation, training and direct mediation in a range of situations from the Miskito/Sandinista conflict in Nicaragua to Somalia, Northern Ireland, Tajikistan, and the Philippines. His influential 1997 book Building Peace has become a classic in the discipline. In this book, Lederach poses the question, "How do we transcend the cycles of violence that bewitch our human community while still living in them?" Peacebuilding, in his view, is both a learned skill and an art. Finding this art, he says, requires a worldview shift.
