Le pharmacien hospitalier joue un rôle important en recherche clinique puisqu'il est impliqué dans la gestion des médicaments expérimentaux, plus particulièrement leur approvisionnement, préparation éventuelle, détention, dispensation et l'évaluation de la compliance des patients. Selon le Code de la Santé Publique, le promoteur d'un essai doit informer préalablement le pharmacien hospitalier de ces modalités. Au sein du Groupement hospitalier Sud, l'Unité de Pharmacie Clinique Oncologique gère les essais cliniques de médicaments. L'objectif de notre travail est d'évaluer la qualité de l'information transmise au pharmacien hospitalier par les représentants du promoteur, au cours des visites de présélection ou de mise en place pharmaceutiques. Nous avons évalué si le représentant du promoteur connaissait les différentes informations nécessaires à la gestion pharmaceutique des médicaments expérimentaux avant de confronter celles-ci aux documents de références de l'essai mis à disposition pour en vérifier l'exactitude. Après un rappel du cadre législatif et réglementaire de la recherche clinique nous avons exposé les résultats obtenus après évaluation de 103 visites de présélection ou de mise en place pharmaceutiques. Notre étude montre que les informations transmises au pharmacien hospitalier sont mieux connues par le promoteur ou son représentant lors des visites de mise en place que lors des visites de présélection. Elles sont alors souvent vérifiables et exactes. Certaines informations n'ont pas été transmises par le promoteur ou son représentant alors qu'elles étaient présentes dans les documents ou ont été transmises de manière erronée, en particulier pour les modalités de traitement des médicaments expérimentaux. Enfin, nous avons pu mettre en évidence que certaines informations ne sont pas toujours connues et transmises à la pharmacie y compris lors des visites de mise en place. De plus, elles ne sont pas toujours présentes dans les documents transmis à la pharmacie, c'est par exemple le cas des modalités de préparation des médicaments expérimentaux. Ainsi, malgré l'importance des informations à recueillir pour le pharmacien hospitalier, celui-ci se retrouve souvent en difficulté pour obtenir l'ensemble des informations nécessaires à la gestion des médicaments expérimentaux.
