Les connaissances médicales évoluent en permanence, nous imposant de nous informer constamment afin de modifier et d’adapter les prises en charge de nos patients. On peut penser que les méthodes d’informations se sont modifiées ces dernières années. L’information des médecins généralistes peut se faire pendant les consultations ou en dehors et peut reposer sur différents thèmes. On pourrait penser que la topographie d’installation du médecin généraliste a un impact sur les méthodes d’information utilisées. De même, l’âge est-il un facteur modifiant les méthodes d’information utilisées ? Quelle est la place des visites de laboratoires pharmaceutiques ? L’objectif de cette thèse est donc de répertorier et de classer les différentes sources d’information utilisées par les médecins généralistes. 300 questionnaires ont été envoyés à des médecins généralistes de Picardie. Pour s’informer, le médecin généraliste a à sa disposition plusieurs méthodes. Ce qu’il faut retenir de cette étude, c’est la place majoritaire d’internet dans la recherche d’information. Les livres médicaux, les FMC, les applications smartphone, les réseaux sociaux, la presse médicale, les visites de laboratoires pharmaceutiques et les revues médicales sont peu utilisés. Pendant les consultations, c’est surtout la thérapeutique qui impose la recherche d’informations, alors qu’en dehors des consultations ce sont plutôt des problèmes de diagnostic. Les limites de cette étude sont l’absence de représentativité du lieu d’exercice et de la proportion de maîtres de stage dans notre échantillon par rapport aux médecins généralistes de Picardie. Internet s’est imposé comme moyen d’information chez la grande majorité des médecins généralistes qui sont maintenant informatisés et l’utilisent tout autant pendant les consultations qu’en dehors des consultations. En revanche, les médecins plus âgés et moins informatisés ont encore recours aux livres et aux informations délivrées par les visiteurs de laboratoire pharmaceutique. Plus les médecins sont jeunes et également impliqués dans la formation d’étudiants, plus ils sont exigeants sur la qualité des sites internet consultés, privilégiant des sites professionnels.

In the late 1950s, like tens of thousands of young men of his generation, Pierre Bourdieu, having recently passed the agrégation in philosophy, found himself immersed in the Algerian war. Motivated by an impulse that, as he himself says, ‘was civic rather than political’, nothing seemed more important to him than to understand the Algerian situation and provide the elements that would enable others to come to an informed judgement about it. In extremely tough conditions and along with a small group of students, Bourdieu undertook a series of studies across an Algeria that was tightly patrolled by the army, leading him to discover the shocking reality of the resettlement camps and to analyse the mechanisms of destruction of Algerian society of which they were emblematic. To achieve the objectives he had set himself, Bourdieu had to carry out a genuine intellectual conversion, acquiring an ethnographic understanding of Algerian society, learning sociological analysis at a breakneck pace and inventing new instruments - both theoretical and empirical - that would enable him to understand the relations of domination specific to colonialism.
