This book intends to present the development of socio-spatial practices in the metropolitan coast of the Northeast of Brazil, highlighting the main urban, spa and tourist agglomerations: Salvador-BA, Recife-PE, Fortaleza-CE, and Natal-RN. The objective is to study the processes of urbanization associated with maritime leisure. In the first chapter, the reader will find a historical and conceptual presentation highlighting the relevance of leisure practices, their forms-flows and their role in the formation of maritime resorts.
