My stories draw inspiration from my late son, Leigh, who was born in 1982 with severe spina bifida. He faced numerous challenges throughout his life and sadly passed away in 2016. Devastated by his loss, I channeled my grief into writing "Leigh, My Amazing Son," an independently published biography in 2018 that sheds light on the unique struggles of individuals with disabilities. After completing Leigh's biography, I embarked on creating the whimsical picture book series "Leigh's Wheelie Adventures" in 2020. These stories feature a vibrant protagonist in a wheelchair, accompanied by spirited friends Cosmo and Tara. Dedicated to Leigh and all children with disabilities, the series, with exquisite illustrations by Caroline Keys and Claudia Gadotti, aims to bring humor, determination, and positive representation to young readers, inspired by Leigh's own experiences. For older readers, "The Mysterious Pool" was crafted in 2021 and has garnered numerous awards and accolades since its release.
