Book Description
The increasing precision of experimental data in many areas of elementary particle physics requires an equally precise theoretical description. In particular, radiative corrections (described by one- and multi-loop Feynman diagrams) have to be considered. Although a growing number of physicists are involved in such projects, multi-loop calculation methods can only be studied from original publications. With its coverage of multi-loop calculations, this book serves as an excellent supplement to the standard textbooks on quantum field theory. Based around postgraduate-level lectures given by the author, the material is suitable for both beginners and graduate students.

Book Description
The authors describe a calculation of the on-shell renormalization factors in QCD and QED at the three loop level. Explicit results for the fermion mass renormalization factor Zm and the on-shell fermion wave function renormalization constant Z2 are given. They find that at theta(alpha33) the wave function renormalization constant Z2 in QCD becomes gauge dependent also in the on-shell scheme, thereby disproving the gauge-independence conjecture based on an earlier two-loop result. As a byproduct, they derive a theta(alpha{sub s}{sup s}) contribution to the anomalous dimension of the heavy quark field in HQET.

Book Description
The success of the experimental program at the Tevatron re-inforced the idea that precision physics at hadron colliders is desirable and, indeed, possible. The Tevatron data strongly suggests that one-loop computations in QCD describe hard scattering well. Extrapolating this observation to the LHC, we conclude that knowledge of many short-distance processes at next-to-leading order may be required to describe the physics of hard scattering. While the field of one-loop computations is quite mature, parton multiplicities in hard LHC events are so high that traditional computational techniques become inefficient. Recently new approaches based on unitarity have been developed for calculating one-loop scattering amplitudes in quantum field theory. These methods are especially suitable for the description of multi-particle processes in QCD and are amenable to numerical implementations. We present a systematic pedagogical description of both conceptual and technical aspects of the new methods.

Book Description
This volume explains how knot theory and Feynman diagrams can be used to illuminate problems in quantum field theory. The author emphasizes how new discoveries in mathematics have inspired conventional calculational methods for perturbative quantum field theory to become more elegant and potentially more powerful methods. The material illustrates what may possibly be the most productive interface between mathematics and physics. As a result, it will be of interest to graduate students and researchers in theoretical and particle physics as well as mathematics.

Book Description
Feynman’s bestselling introduction to the mind-blowing physics of QED—presented with humor, not mathematics Celebrated for his brilliantly quirky insights into the physical world, Nobel laureate Richard Feynman also possessed an extraordinary talent for explaining difficult concepts to the public. In this extraordinary book, Feynman provides a lively and accessible introduction to QED, or quantum electrodynamics, an area of quantum field theory that describes the interactions of light with charged particles. Using everyday language, spatial concepts, visualizations, and his renowned Feynman diagrams instead of advanced mathematics, Feynman clearly and humorously communicates the substance and spirit of QED to the nonscientist. With an incisive introduction by A. Zee that places Feynman’s contribution to QED in historical context and highlights Feynman’s uniquely appealing and illuminating style, this Princeton Science Library edition of QED makes Feynman’s legendary talks on quantum electrodynamics available to a new generation of readers.

Book Description
Introduction to Feynman Diagrams provides Feynman diagram techniques and methods for calculating quantities measured experimentally. The book discusses topics Feynman diagrams intended for experimental physicists. Topics presented include methods for calculating the matrix elements (by perturbation theory) and the basic rules for constructing Feynman diagrams; techniques for calculating cross sections and polarizations; processes in which both leptons and hadrons take part; and the electromagnetic and weak form factors of nucleons. Experimental physicists and graduate students of physics will find value in the book.
