Les études concernant les adolescents ayant subi un traumatisme crânien (TC) sont relativement rares. Celles-ci mettent en avant les troubles majeurs de la communication et soulignent les difficultés d'intégration sociale et scolaire après l'accident. Cependant, s'il est établi que ces troubles sont handicapants et les répercussions lourdes, peu de place est laissée à la parole des familles. Pourtant, celles-ci sont les partenaires privilégiées des soignants dans la réadaptation de l'adolescent cérébro-lésé. Ce travail a pour but de donner aux familles la possibilité d'exprimer leurs questionnements, de décrire leur quotidien aux côtés d'un adolescent ayant subi un TC grave, et de partager les adaptations qu'elles ont dû mettre en place pour communiquer avec leur enfant. Pour cela, des entretiens ont été réalisés auprès de plusieurs familles d'adolescents, entre 11 et 18 ans, ayant été victimes de TC. Les familles ont été interrogées sur les difficultés rencontrées au quotidien dans la communication et leurs répercussions dans les sphères familiales, scolaires et amicales. Les domaines de la pragmatique étudiés sont des habiletés incontournables pour une socialisation à l'âge adolescent : la compréhension du langage élaboré, de l'humour, la théorie de l'esprit...tous susceptibles d'être touchés après un TC. Ces entretiens ont permis de mettre en évidence une importante demande d'accompagnement des familles, qui ont toutes exprimé un sentiment d'impuissance et de solitude face aux difficultés de leur enfant. Emergent alors de ce travail des questionnements autour des informations nécessaires aux familles sur les problématiques de la pragmatique du langage, afin de mieux accompagner celles qui pourraient y être plus tard confrontées.
