Objectif : Le remboursement du vaccin combiné Infanrix Hexa en 2008 a permis une amélioration rapide de la couverture vaccinale des nourrissons. Cependant, ce geste fort de la part des autorités de santé n'a pas permis d'effacer toutes les réticences liées aux polémiques sur l'hépatite B de la décennie précédente. L'objectif de notre étude a été d'évaluer les connaissances des parents sur le vaccin et la maladie, alors qu'ils refusaient la vaccination contre l'hépatite B. Nous avons également cherché à connaître l'avis de leur médecin. Méthodologie : Nous avons réalisé un recueil de données par questionnaires, remplis par les parents ayant refusé la vaccination de leur enfant contre l'hépatite B. Le recrutement a eu lieu au service d'accueil des urgences de l'hôpital Necker Enfants Malades, à Paris, de mars à avril 2016, ainsi qu'au sein d'un cabinet de pédiatres, dans le département des Hauts-de-Seine, de juillet à décembre 2016. Résultats : Nous avons recueilli 37 questionnaires au service des urgences, et 103 dans le cabinet de pédiatrie. Le total de bonnes réponses sur les modes de transmission de la maladie est de 29%. Le total de bonnes réponses sur l'organe touché par la maladie est de 66%. Le total de bonnes réponses sur les huit questions portant sur les connaissances des parents est de 43,8%. 57% des familles interrogées aux urgences considéraient que leur médecin était en accord avec leur refus de la vaccination. Conclusion : Notre étude a mis en évidence un grave manque de connaissance parmi les parents interrogés, sur la maladie autant que sur la vaccination, et cela malgré leur refus du vaccin. Elle a également rappelé les réticences présentes chez le personnel médical. Le rôle du médecin est essentiel dans le processus de vaccination. Les actions qui doivent être entreprises, doivent concerner aussi bien la population générale que les professionnels de santé, comme l'a été le remboursement de l'héxavalent.
