This book analyses current developments in Europe and Latin America towards the greater involvement of the parties in the administration of criminal justice. Focusing on both national criminal proceedings and transnational cases, this study employs a comparative law approach to examine the shift experienced by Italy and Brazil from the long tradition of mixed criminal justice to unprecedented adversarial trends. The identification of common needs and divergences from the national approach to criminal justice paves the way for a subsequent analysis of new solution models emerging from international human rights law and EU law. To a great extent, these developments are due to the increasing impact of international human rights case-law on the criminal justice systems of the countries in question. Violence against women is one of the most widespread, pervasive and serious violations of human rights affecting every country or area of the globe. Domestic violence against women and girls – commonly known as intimate partner violence or family violence – concerns any form of physical, psychological, sexual, or economic abuse perpetrated by partners and relatives. It encompasses multiple and varied acts and behaviors – ranging from emotional and verbal abuse to femicide – aiming at affirming power and control over women and their lives. Although combating this form of violence is especially challenging in the context of private settings, domestic violence is no longer treated as a “private matter”. Decades of mobilization and sensitization of societies and institutions, strongly supported by the restless action of women’s movements, have contributed to making violence against women a priority on the national and international agendas. Indeed, the road to the adoption of international binding instruments and national legislation on domestic violence has been long and twisted. Nonetheless, today women are protected against violence by some landmark legal instruments adopted at the global, regional and national levels. The nEU-Med project is part of the Horizon 2020 programme, in the ERC Advanced project category. It began in October 2015 and will be concluded in October 2020. The University of Siena is the host institution of the project. The project is focussed upon two Tuscan riverine corridors leading from the Gulf of Follonica in the Tyrrhenian Sea to the Colline Metallifere. It aims to document and analyze the form and timeframe of economic growth in this part of the Mediterranean, which took place between the 7th and the 12thc. Central to this is an understanding of the processes of change in human settlements, in the natural and farming landscapes in relation to the exploitation of resources, and in the implementation of differing political strategies. This volume brings together the research presented at the first nEUMed workshop, held in Siena on 11-12 April, 2017. The aim of the workshop was to draw up an initial survey of research and related work on the project, one and a half years after its inception. The project is composed of several research units. Each unit covers an aspect of the interdisciplinary research underpinning the nEU-Med project, each with their own methodology. For this first volume of results, it was decided not to give an account of all the work carried out within all the units, but to select those lines of investigation which, at the end of the first year and a half, have made it possible to articulate and develop an interdisciplinary research strategy.

Lo scopo primario del mobbing è quello di ottenere l'estromissione del lavoratore - vittima dall'ambiente in cui opera professionalmente. Tale estromissione si estrinseca in vari modi: il primo è quello di costringere la vittima a fare trasferimento, attraverso una serie di vessazioni, intimidazioni, procedimenti disciplinari "inventati" ad arte, ed in alcuni casi dopo essere riusciti a convincere la vittima della sua scarsa valenza professionale (attacco all'autostima), portarla addirittura alle dimissioni. L'allontanamento seppur temporaneo dall'ambiente mobbizzante porta il lavoratore mobbizzato a rendersi conto che egli non è affatto ciò che gli altri gli hanno voluto far credere, e che semmai, a questi devono essere addebitate le responsabilità del proprio fallimento professionale. Spesso anche il licenziamento deriva da un'azione mobbizzante del lavoratore e per conseguenze e modalità può assumere gli aspetti dell' ingiuriosità. libro + CD ROM
