Book Description
here are twenty-five presentations in the book, "Last Call? (Subtitled: A Christian Challenge to Atheists, Agnostics, & Skeptics!)." All except five, are updated and/or revised versions of one or more presentations in the original version of the "Last call?," with the subtitle: "(Are You Really Serving God?)." At five hundred forty-four pages, the original version was too large (about the size of a ream of typing paper) and too heavy. Most of the feedback, which we received, indicated that too many readers thought that the original version read like a (college) doctoral thesis. The author and the editor did their best to correct both the size issue and the readability issue via the "Last Call? (Subtitled: A Christian Challenge to Atheists, Agnostics, & Skeptics!)."

Book Description
Conversations matter. Yet, recently, good conversations about faith have been increasingly squeezed out of the public sphere. Seeking to reopen the debate, Justin Brierley began to invite atheists and sceptics on to Premier Christian Radio to air arguments for and against the Christian faith. But how has ten years of discussion with atheists affected the presenter’s faith? Reflecting on conversations with Richard Dawkins, Derren Brown and many more, Justin explains why he still finds Christianity the most compelling explanation for life, the universe and everything. And why, regardless of belief or background, we should all welcome the conversation. ‘Beautifully written, brilliantly argued, Justin’s book will thrill Christians and challenge atheists.’ R. T. Kendall, author and pastor ‘Justin has that happy knack of being able to get people of diametrically opposed opinions debating the big issues.’ John Lennox, Professor of Mathematics, University of Oxford

Book Description
God creating the rest of mankind (excludes Adam, Eve, and Jesus) as sinless beings is a nontraditional topic. It is so because the Bible tells us about God creating Adam and Eve as sinless beings and about Jesus being born sinless through the Virgin Mary. But there are no explicit references to the sinless creation of the rest of mankind. However, there is an implicit reference to such an event. The implied reference is only briefly mentioned in this book because that topic is not the focus of this book. God's definition of spiritual death is the focus. This book is volume eight, but it is the first of a series of possibly thirty volumes to be uploaded into the Kindle eBook and paperback system under the series titled: "The 'Last Call?' series." In this book, the author presents evidence that supports the position that God defined spiritual death in the Bible via the story of Adam and Eve. With a focus on Adam and Eve, the book presents ten events in the Bible that helped shape God's definition of spiritual death. These events include the creation of Adam and Eve as sinless beings, and then their sinning. The sinless birth of Jesus is briefly discussed. Then the ten events are summarized, which facilitates the process of revealing God's definition of spiritual death. In the additional comments section of the book, the following discussions are presented: 1) Did God create a complete male and an incomplete female in the man of Genesis 2:7? 2) Did God, the Son, die on the cross with Jesus, the man? 3) Did Jesus, the man, die for everyone's sins? 4) The phrase: Kinsman-Redeemer. 5) The phrase: Potential Substitute. 6) The phrase: Sacrificial Lamb of God. The appendix of the book includes the following discussions: 1) Abbreviations used in the author's presentations. 2) Old and New Testaments Canonicity Tests. 3) The chapter and verse designations were not in the original versions of the Bibles. P.S. The author took the pen name "John W. Hisserv (for John Watobe Hisserv)" because he did not want to be the focus of anything. The focus should be on God. Furthermore, John is a private person, who writes about things that he feels are important for Christians to know and to understand. He feels that any insights that he received were from God. But He welcomes and greatly appreciates any constructive criticism that anyone is willing to offer. There is nothing that anyone can say that will hurt his feelings because it is not about him. It is about glorifying God in the best way that is possible for a human being. Twenty-five of the thirty presentations, which we are hoping to update and upload to the Kindle eBook and paperback system are based on John's second book "Last Call?: A Christian Challenge to Atheists, Agnostics, and Skeptics!" This book is no longer being offered for sale because of the updates and revisions for the Kindle system. However, you can see the twenty-five titles in the table of contents for the book on the Internet. Look for a website with the words "Hisserv" and "com" in it. Some of the titles are also being revised and updated.

Book Description
In Did Jesus Exist? historian and Bible expert Bart Ehrman confronts the question, "Did Jesus exist at all?" Ehrman vigorously defends the historical Jesus, identifies the most historically reliable sources for best understanding Jesus’ mission and message, and offers a compelling portrait of the person at the heart of the Christian tradition. Known as a master explainer with deep knowledge of the field, Bart Ehrman methodically demolishes both the scholarly and popular “mythicist” arguments against the existence of Jesus. Marshaling evidence from within the Bible and the wider historical record of the ancient world, Ehrman tackles the key issues that surround the mythologies associated with Jesus and the early Christian movement. In Did Jesus Exist?: The Historical Argument for Jesus of Nazareth, Ehrman establishes the criterion for any genuine historical investigation and provides a robust defense of the methods required to discover the Jesus of history.

Book Description
A Friendly Letter to Skeptics and Atheists helps readers—both secular and religious—appreciate their common ground. For those whose thinking has moved from the religious thesis to the skeptical antithesis (or vice versa), Myers offers pointers to a science-respecting Christian synthesis. He shows how skeptics and people of faith can share a commitment to reason, evidence, and critical thinking, while also embracing a faith that supports human flourishing—by making sense of the universe, giving meaning to life, connecting us in supportive communities, mandating altruism, and offering hope in the face of adversity and death.

Book Description
Take Your Understanding of Church Teachings from Limiting to Life-Giving—& Free Your Faith to Flourish "No longer sustained by easy answers, we may find ourselves standing before a three-pronged fork in the road: we can wander in the direction of conventional beliefs and practices, we can reject God and turn away from religion altogether, or we can embrace our uncertainty as an invitation to a more vital understanding of both God and religion." —from the Introduction Do you describe yourself as "spiritual but not religious"? Whether young or old, church connected or not, are you spiritually restless for an authentic faith life but do not find conventional religious teachings pertinent to you? This accessible guide to a meaningful spiritual life is a salve for your soul. It reinterprets traditional religious teachings central to the Christian faith—God, Jesus, faith, prayer, morality and more—in ways that connect with people who have outgrown the beliefs and devotional practices that once made sense to them. It helps you find new ways to understand and relate to traditional, narrowly defined Christian “truths” that honor their full spiritual power and scope, and opens your mind and heart to the full impact of Christian teachings.

Book Description
The story of religion in the twenty-first-century West has been defined, in part, by the stories of once-zealous pastors moving beyond their faith to embrace a life of reason. But too often and too quickly ardent believers dismiss such accounts as aberrations and fail to consider the real-life implications for those who make this transition. Atheists and other skeptics, meanwhile, struggle to understand what took these individuals so long to make such a journey—and why others aren't lining up more quickly to do the same. As a result, the questions posed by one side inevitably mirror those asked by the other. Why do believers trust in God the way they do? But what factors lead atheists to dismiss religious beliefs so easily? How can believers have faith in the face of known science and history? But what allows anyone to be so sure their beliefs are based in reality? What would it take for believers to stop believing in God? But what would it take for nonbelievers to start to believe? Drawing on the author's own story as a former evangelical pastor powerless to stop his turn to atheism, The Rise and Fall of Faith touches on these and other questions, inviting readers into a long-overdue conversation between Christians and atheists. While the aim of the book is to initiate this much-needed discussion, the author encourages all who care about the future of humanity to carry the dialogue forward—whether in the evaluation of our own inner thoughts, in the assumptions we make about the other side, or in how we work together in the pursuit of understanding and common ground as we navigate the world's ever-changing and increasingly challenging religious and cultural landscape.
