Este libro es el resultado de reflexiones del presente y devenir de Colombia frente a la construcción de paz después de un conflicto de más de cinco décadas. Por consiguiente, el estudio tanto de las dificultades como de la ventana de oportunidades de cara a la implementación del Acuerdo de paz con las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) es una contribución a las generaciones de paz y una retribución a las víctimas y la sociedad en general. Tras los diálogos de paz en Cuba, estos primeros aportes de la academia son necesarios para entender el papel y los retos que los colombianos, las instituciones y los diferentes actores involucrados en el conflicto deben asumir en la fase de implementación del Acuerdo. La responsabilidad de desarrollar una nueva territorialidad no solo debe recaer en las manos del Estado, sino también en las de la sociedad civil y los individuos, ejes de la reconciliación y la construcción de paz que comienza. El proyecto de una nueva sociedad resiliente capaz de superar las consecuencias del conflicto armado o nuevas formas de violencia será el resultado de la consolidación de una paz territorial en armonía con lo acordado en La Habana. Pero el texto del Acuerdo no es sino una semilla para lo que el país debe hacer en la etapa que comienza a atravesar. Colombia no se puede limitar a entender que la terminación de un conflicto bélico con un grupo armado específico es el último eslabón para la consecución de un país en paz. Al país le urge erradicar la violencia en todas sus expresiones: la sociedad debe eliminar actitudes, creencias y sectarismos que se cristalizan en prácticas conflictivas. Solo la ausencia de violencia tácita no es la suficiente para tener un país en paz, un país normal.

For small-scale fisheries around the world, the Blue Growth and Blue Economy initiatives may provide sustainable development, but only insofar as they align with the global consensus enshrined in the Voluntary Guidelines for Securing Sustainable Small-Scale Fisheries in the context of Food Security and Poverty Eradication. If states do nothing to fulfill the promises they made when they endorsed these guidelines in 2014, the Blue Economy will come at a loss for small-scale fisheries and further their marginalization in the ocean economy. Under the umbrella of Blue Justice, this book demonstrates that these risks are real and must be considered as states implement their sustainable ocean development plans. These are human rights issues, which are embedded into governance principles and institutions and which make a difference for small-scale fisheries people in their daily lives. Amid the growing calls for a turn towards sustainable agriculture, this book puts forth and discusses the concept of agrarian extractivism to help us identify and expose the predatory extractivist features of dominant agricultural development models. The concept goes beyond the more apparent features of monocultures and raw material exports to examine the inherent logic and underlying workings of a model based on the appropriation of an ever-growing range of commodified and non-commodified human and non-human nature in an extractivist fashion. Such a process erodes the autonomy of resourcedependent working people, dispossesses the rural poor, exhausts and expropriates nature, and concentrates value in a few hands as a result of the unquenchable drive for profit by big business. In many instances, such extractivist dynamics are subsidized and/or directly supported by the state, while also dependent on the unpaid, productive, and reproductive labour of women, children, and elders, exacerbating unequal class, gender, and generational relations. Rather than a one-size-fits-all definition of agrarian extractivism, this collection points to the diversity of extractivist features of corporate-led, external-input-dependent plantation agriculture across distinct socio-ecological formations in Latin America.
