La igualdad de género como derecho universal es uno de los aspectos clave considerado por las diferentes organizaciones internacionales de mayor importancia, los gobiernos y los individuos. Sin embargo, lejos de ser un concepto nuevo, la igualdad de género nace en el siglo XVIII y ha ido tomando relevancia con el paso de los años. En este trabajo, se analizará y comparará la situación entre mujeres y hombres teniendo en cuenta varios aspectos: la educación, el mercado de trabajo y el sistema de pensiones. Dicho análisis será presentado de manera dual: por un lado, el entorno internacional, y por otro, el ámbito comunitario. El principal objetivo aquí presentado es el de analizar la situación de la mujer en diferentes esferas de la vida, y más concretamente comparar su posición en el mercado laboral internacional y dentro de las fronteras de la Unión Europea a fin de determinar los resultados de las diversas estrategias y políticas implementadas. Gender has a fundamental influence on the human brain, not only by virtue of biological and hormonal differences between the sexes but also because of the impact of gender-specific cultural, social, anthropological and environmental factors. Nevertheless, the relation of gender and psychopathology remains a largely neglected field. Gender perspective has been treated as a paradigm in this book on psychopathology because it determines the way in which a psychiatric symptom is defined, perceived and understood. This conception of gender as being of key importance in the definition of psychiatric symptomatology is exceptional in the literature. The book opens by examining historical and cultural aspects of mental health in women worldwide and the relation of sex, brain and gender, with coverage of both neurobiological and psychosocial aspects. The significance of gender with regard to specific aspects of psychopathology is then addressed in detail. A wide range of psychological disorders are considered, as well as hormonal influences and issues concerning body image, self identity, sexuality and life instinct. On October 14-19, 1990, the 6th International Conference on the Conservation of Earthen Architecture was held in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Sponsored by the GCI, the Museum of New Mexico State Monuments, ICCROM, CRATerre-EAG, and the National Park Service, under the aegis of US/ICOMOS, the event was organized to promote the exchange of ideas, techniques, and research findings on the conservation of earthen architecture. Presentations at the conference covered a diversity of subjects, including the historic traditions of earthen architecture, conservation and restoration, site preservation, studies in consolidation and seismic mitigation, and examinations of moisture problems, clay chemistry, and microstructures. In discussions that focused on the future, the application of modern technologies and materials to site conservation was urged, as was using scientific knowledge of existing structures in the creation of new, low-cost, earthen architecture housing.
