En los últimos años ha surgido en antropología una nueva rama que investiga las relaciones entre las marcas-productos y los sujetos en cuanto consumidores. Sin embargo, no existen registros teóricos o bibliográficos que aborden el quehacer antropológico en este ámbito. Esta obra recoge el análisis y las percepciones de los actores que participan en esta nueva rama, mostrando que existen tensiones y conflictos generados a partir de la ilegitimidad que supone esta actividad en el ámbito de la antropología general. El objetivo de esta obra es exponer las principales características de la actividad antropológica en la etapa comercial, mostrando las problemáticas más graves que se plantean en este campo. A partir del pensamiento de Pierre Bourdieu, son cuatro los ternas esenciales que aquí se abordan: la contextualizacion presenta, el desarrollo histórico y el estilo nacional de la antropología en Colombia, donde se establecen los antecedentes de la actividad antropológica y comercial; el desarrollo de actividades en antropología comercial, esto es, qué se hace y cómo se hace; las reflexiones y el análisis de problemáticas corno ilegitimidad, problemas históricos de la disciplina, oportunidades laborales y, por último, las reflexiones desde la perspectiva de las empresas -que contratan a los antropólogos para desarrollar las investigaciones que sus clientes dernandan-, desde el punto de vista de los propios clientes y del de los directores de los programas de Antropología en Bogotá sobre el quehacer y la forma en que tales actividades se desarrollan.

What is tango? Dance, music, and lyrics of course, but also a philosophy, a strategy, a commodity, even a disease. This book explores the politics of tango, tracing tango's travels from the brothels of Buenos Aires to the cabarets of Paris and the shako dansu clubs of Tokyo. The author is an Argentinean political theorist and a dance professor at the University of California at Riverside. She uses her ?tango tongue? to tell interwoven tales of sexuality, gender, race, class, and national identity. Along the way she unravels relations between machismo and colonialism, postmodernism and patriarchy, exoticism and commodification.
