Book Description
Mr. Hope's new romance pictures the life of a prince and king under conditions modern, and yet shared by representatives of royalty almost throughout history. The interactions of the people and royalty, the aspirations of the prince, the intrigues surrounding him, the cares of state, and the craving for love, are some of the motives developed, with the accompaniments of incident and adventure, wherein the author proves his mastery of suspended interest and dramatic effect. It is a romance which will not only absorb the attention of readers, but impress them with a new admiration for the author's power.

Book Description
The King's Mirror is the outstanding literary monument of thirteenth-century Norway. It is presented as a dialogue between a father and his son. The son wants his father's help and advice to live a good life, and more generally, he wants to know how people belonging to different layers of society should live, both in a moral and in a more practical sense. The dialogue starts with the merchant, goes on to the hirthmathrThe King's Mirror was written in Norway, on the periphery of Western Christendom, and a country whose contribution to political thought has not received much attention. This study attempts to cut across the traditional borderline between the Nordic countries and the rest of Western Christendom, both in examining The King's Mirror as part of a common European tradition and in using the work to illuminate European political thought in a comparatively little known period, from the end of the Investiture Contest in the early twelfth century to the revival of Aristotelian studies in the later thirteenth century. The book was originally published by Odense University Press in 1987 but all the remaining stock has now been taken over by Brepols.

Book Description
Few authors have achieved such renown as World Fantasy Life Achievement honoree and Science Fiction Writers of America Grand Master Andre Norton. With the love of readers and the praise of critics, Norton’s books have sold millions of copies worldwide. In this great science fiction novel, Andre Norton brings to new life the legendary King Arthur and the wizard Merlin in the light of modern knowledge of a lost period of history and today’s understanding of science and interplanetary communication. Yet, as in all Norton’s wonder novels, this is a fabulous adventure in fantasy. Here is Merlin, half star-born, gifted with the advice of an alien intelligence, given the task of renewing civilization and starting humanity again up the ladder to the stars. Here is Arthur, unaware of his stellar heritage. And here, too, is the Lady of the Lake, akin to Merlin in that she is also a listener to the music of the spheres and obedient to a celestial command post.
