Book Description
Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with the Medical Society. I am a Brain Cancer Survivor, Glioblastoma Multiforme Grade 4. I was diagnosed on July 22, 2013. My prognosis was 14 months. One of the reasons for writing this book is that I want to be aware of Cancer Stem Cells (CSC). The Cancer Stem Cells, in my opinion, are major determinations of whether or not you will beat cancer. Most people, Doctors, Nurses, Researchers do not know about the Cancer Stem Cells. They were not taught about Cancer Stem Cells. The CSC were being researched in the 1990's. The CSC make up 1% of the tumor. Chemotherapy and radiation have no effect on CSC. A Oncologist will see the tumor shrinking and think it is good. It is not good. It makes the tumor metastasize, that is good. It can metastasize immediately or it can take several years. It just happen that foods can fight Cancer Stem Cells. I find everything to fight cancer at the grocery store. So why are we fixated on doing chemotherapy and radiation?

Book Description
Functional Foods in Cancer Prevention and Therapy presents the wide range of functional foods associated with the prevention and treatment of cancer. In recent decades, researchers have made progress in our understanding of the association between functional food and cancer, especially as it relates to cancer treatment and prevention. Specifically, substantial evidence from epidemiological, clinical and laboratory studies show that various food components may alter cancer risk, the prognosis after cancer onset, and the quality of life after cancer treatment. The book documents the therapeutic roles of well-known functional foods and explains their role in cancer therapy. The book presents complex cancer patterns and evidence of the effective ways to control cancers with the use of functional foods. This book will serve as informative reference for researchers focused on the role of food in cancer prevention and physicians and clinicians involved in cancer treatment.
