The book describes the activities of the Kiama Lions Club over the last fifty years, and has been written to coincide with the club's fiftieth birthday in March 2020. Material for the book has come from numerous sources; club minutes and bulletins, newspaper reports, memories of club members, past and present, that have been validated by at least one other source, with photos provided by members, former club photographers and newspapers. Beneficiaries of financial support from the club are listed and amenities, including beautification programs provided to our community, are described in detail. Details of ongoing foundations established by the club are discussed.The book gives a brief summary of the other Service Clubs, past and present, in Kiama and provides a historical and geographical snapshot of the Kiama district. It relates unusual and amusing anecdotes connected with dinner meetings or club activities and provided biographical details of several of the interesting and/or prominent characters of the club over the years. It provided a brief description of the purposes on the Lions organisation and its structure.
