Book Description
Satans most effective lie? What conceivable falsehood would be more devastating to Christianity than the false inference that Jesus was and is a maker and user of wine or of any other mind-altering drug? Jesus was a man of perfection and without sin! Is drug use not a sin? This book provides a solid and perhaps somewhat revolutionary biblical hypothesis to firmly prove that Moses did not use wine and that Jesus did not make or use any wine. This hypothesis is based entirely on the original Hebrew and Greek Scriptures, because the Hebrew word yayin and the Greek word oinos were falsely or inadequately translated into Latin and into other European languages at some time after the hostile takeover of the New Testament Church in Rome by Constantine the Great. This conclusion is supported by Strongs Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible and by his Hebrew and Greek dictionaries, by the books of Dr. Robert P. Teachout and Dr. Samuel Bacchiocchi, by the Full Life Study Bible edited by Donald C. Stamps, and by the Hebrew-Greek Key Word Study Bible and Lexicons of Spiros Zodhiates. Satan is to blame for this false translation, as he is, as Hal Lindsey once said, Alive and well on planet Earthand has overwhelming power when we allow him dominion. Those ancient words for wine and grape juice were all generic or interchangeable in literature, even until the King James Version of the Bible was printed. The original KJV is actually acceptable, but the absolute inerrancy and infallibility of Scripture have been faulted by the false translation of wine in modern Bibles since that time. Another proposed biblical hypothesis states that Satan inspired the equivalent of a hostile corporate takeover of the New Testament Church in Rome. This was done through Emperor Constantines agreement to cease the persecution and genocide of Christianity if he and his army were given key positions of respect or authority in the church. This resulted in the world's most powerful union of church and state, the Holy Roman Catholic Church, which has now existed for many centuries.

Book Description
“Page-turning . . . Set against the political and religious turmoil of the times, the Thoenes’ story vividly reimagines the evolving friendship between Jesus and Lazarus.” —Publishers Weekly LAZARUS—the man Jesus raised from the dead in one of the most extraordinary encounters with The Living Savior in all of Scripture. But the life of Lazarus holds interest well beyond this miraculous event. Living in Bethany, near Jerusalem, Lazarus witnessed many of the most important events of Jesus’s life and ministry. Lazarus owned a vineyard and devoted his life to caring for its vines and fruit. But he encountered another man—Jesus—whose vineyard was the world, its fruit the eternal souls of men. When Lazarus’s story and the story of Jesus’s crucifixion and resurrection touch in When Jesus Wept, we are offered a unique vision into the power and comfort of Christ’s love. Brock and Bodie Thoene’s most powerful and climactic writing project to date, When Jesus Wept, captures the power and the passion of the men and women who lived through the most important days in the history of the world.

Book Description
Farmer’s markets, artisanal dark chocolate, home-made bread, craft-brewed beer, and independent boutique coffee shops may not immediately call to mind issues of faith, but they should. As the “American Dream” starts to fray at both ends, millions of people are embracing values that seem to hail from a bygone era. They are seeking out the local, the small, the responsible and the nourishing instead of the cheap, the homogenized, the mass-produced and the canned. Is it possible that this renewed interest in these pre-modern values may actually offer an open door into the hearts and minds of this generation? Is there a way to explore specific, inspiring stories about coffee, bread, chocolate and art that lead people toward a truly Biblical understanding of the person, words and work of Jesus to reveal the truth, goodness and beauty of the Gospel? With fascinating stories and a thread of memoir, Jesus, Bread, and Chocolate explores the emerging—actually re-emerging—values of this post-industrial age and points out parallels between them and the teaching and ministry of Jesus and his earliest followers. Rather than seeking to tie the faith to trends in the culture, it shows how trends in the culture are already very close to the organic kind of faith that could reenergize the church and bring countless young and middle-aged people into a saving experience of Christ.

Book Description
In the beginning, for me, winemaking was a romanticized notion of putting grape juice into a barrel and allowing time to perform its magic as you sat on the veranda watching the sunset on a Tuscan landscape. For some small wineries, this notion might still ring true, but for the majority of wineries commercially producing quality wines, the reality of winemaking is far more complex. The persistent evolution of the wine industry demands continual advan- ments in technology and education to sustain and promote quality winem- ing. The sciences of viticulture, enology, and wine chemistry are becoming more intricate and sophisticated each year. Wine laboratories have become an integral part of the winemaking process, necessitating a knowledgeable staff possessing a multitude of skills. Science incorporates the tools that new-age winemakers are utilizing to produce some of the best wines ever made in this multibillion dollar trade. A novice to enology and wine chemistry can find these subjects daunting and intimidating. Whether you are a home winemaker, a new winemaker, an enology student, or a beginning-to-intermediate laboratory technician, p- ting all the pieces together can take time. As a winemaker friend once told me, “winemaking is a moving target. ” Introduction to Wine Laboratory Practices and Procedures was written for the multitude of people entering the wine industry and those that wish to learn about wine chemistry and enology.
