Urban Apologetics
Author: Eric Mason
Publisher: Zondervan
ISBN: 031010095X
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 299
Book Description
Urban Apologetics examines the legitimate issues that Black communities have with Western Christianity and shows how the gospel of Jesus Christ—rather than popular, socioreligious alternatives—restores our identity. African Americans have long confronted the challenge of dignity destruction caused by white supremacy. While many have found meaning and restoration of dignity in the black church, others have found it in ethnocentric socioreligious groups and philosophies. These ideologies have grown and developed deep traction in the black community and beyond. Revisionist history, conspiracy theories, and misinformation about Jesus and Christianity are the order of the day. Many young African Americans are disinterested in Christianity and others are leaving the church in search of what these false religious ideas appear to offer, a spirituality more indigenous to their history and ethnicity. Edited by Dr. Eric Mason and featuring a top-notch lineup of contributors, Urban Apologetics is the first book focused entirely on cults, religious groups, and ethnocentric ideologies prevalent in the black community. The book is divided into three main parts: Discussions on the unique context for urban apologetics so that you can better understand the cultural arguments against Christianity among the Black community. Detailed information on cults, religious groups, and ethnic identity groups that many urban evangelists encounter—such as the Nation of Islam, Kemetic spirituality, African mysticism, Hebrew Israelites, Black nationalism, and atheism. Specific tools for urban apologetics and community outreach. Ultimately, Urban Apologetics applies the gospel to black identity to show that Jesus is the only one who can restore it. This is an essential resource to equip those doing the work of ministry and apology in urban communities with the best available information.

The PROPHECIES was composed for those Israelites who struggle and seek to understand why the world has been so barbaric, cruel, wicked, and evil towards them from the very day that they were born. This book was designed to educate and help awaken the people of the Pure Holy Bloodline of Adam, who were saved through the Great Flood that the Lord raised up as his Great Nation of Israel, followed by their colossal downfall due to the sins of their forefathers. This print was written for the homeless Black Man and the young Latino Woman who work three jobs to provide food on the table for their babies, and who are just trying to survive. This Authorship was inscribed for the Divine End-Times Spiritual Vivication of the young Hebrew South American Man and Woman, The Jamaican Grandmother, the West African Family, and the poor Aboriginal peoples of Micro & Polynesia who pray day after day in these false Roman Harlot churches, giving their hard earned money, time and blood for a lost cause, being taught no TRUTH of the Most High, while the world speedily burns around them in pure satanic evil. These works were put together for the poor righteous man in America who for over 400+ years, has been continuously and systematically oppressed and suppressed, while being under constant threat, harassment, assault, and high duress brought on him by Edom, never receiving a single moment of rest. This Document was created for the Hebrew youth who learn absolutely nothing of value from their so-called leaders, politicians, preachers and teachers, who themselves are all Greatly famished of the Truth of the Word of God.These Records are for the ghetto prisoners of our world who grow tired of this system that was built off of the blood of Hebrews and which was ultimately created to destroy them.THE PROPHECIES is a foresight of the Glorious Freedom and Future Kingdom of Christ to come for the poor and displaced Israelites scattered among the four corners of the earth.Let me be crystal clear about this Book.THE PROPHECIES IS A DECLARATION OF THE WAR THAT GREAT FATHER AHAYAH AND LORD YASHAYA SHALL WAGE UPON THE HEATHEN THAT HAVE RAPED, ROBBED, ENSLAVED, AND MURDERED OVER 600+ MILLION OF GOD'S GREAT PEOPLE UNDER THEIR 2300 YEAR RULERSHIP FROM THE TIME OF ALEXANDER.This Book is ONLY for the Hebrews who seek the Great Face of Father Ahayah through Lord Yashaya Christ. The Rise and Fall of the Ancient Israelite States
Author: Martin Sicker
Publisher: Bloomsbury Publishing USA
ISBN: 0313051895
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 272
Book Description
By subjecting biblical writings to a political analysis, Sicker constructs a plausible political history of the ancient Israelite states that dealt with virtually every issue faced by governments throughout subsequent history. As he makes clear, the way they dealt with those issues, successfully or otherwise, is highly instructive and relevant to today's analysis of geopolitical issues. Our knowledge of the political history of ancient Israel is almost exclusively dependent on the information that may be gleaned from biblical writings, which reflect a historiosophical perspective very different from that employed in modern historical writing. Nonetheless and despite all the problems encountered in dealing with the biblical texts, the history of the ancient Israelite states that can be derived from them has much to offer a student of politics. Instead of the critical literary analysis common to contemporary biblical studies, Sicker constructs a plausible political history of the ancient Israelite states that takes into consideration the geopolitical realities that directly conditioned much of that history as well as the religious dimensions of Israelite political culture that played a critical role in it. He demonstrates that the ancient Israelite states were confronted by virtually every political dilemma, domestic and international, encountered by states and governments throughout the subsequent history of the world. The way they dealt with the issues, successfully or otherwise, is highly instructive and relevant to the complex issues faced by states and governments today.

Origin and Transformation of the Ancient Israelite Festival Calendar
Author: Jan A. Wagenaar
Publisher: Otto Harrassowitz Verlag
ISBN: 9783447052498
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 240
Book Description
The book focusses on the origin and transformation of the priestly festival calendar. Since the epoch-making work of Julius Wellhausen at the end of the 19th century the differences between the various ancient Israelite festival calendars have often been explained in terms of a gradual evolution, which shows an increasing historicisation, denaturalisation and ritualisation. The festivals were in Wellhausen's view gradually detached from agricultural conditions and celebrated more and more at fixed points in the year. This study tries to show that the changes in the priestly festival calendar reflect a conscious effort to adapt the ancient Israelite festival calendar to the semi-annual layout of the Babylonian festival year. The ramifications of the change only come to the fore after a careful study of the agricultural conditions of ancient Israel - and Mesopotamia - makes clear that passover and the festival of unleavened bread were originally celebrated in the second month of the year. The first month of the year envisaged by the priestly festival calendar for the celebration of passover and the festival of unleavened bread in turn mirrors the date of one of the two semi-annual Babylonian New Year festivals. The two Babylonian New Year festivals were celebrated exactly six months apart at the vernal and autumnal equinoxes. In order to adapt the ancient Israelite festival calendar to the Babylonian scheme with two New Year festivals a year, the date of passover and the festival of unleavened bread had to be moved up by one month. The consequences for the origin of passover, the festival of unleavened bread, the festival of weeks and the festival of huts are charted and the relations between the various ancient Israelite festival calendars are determined anew.
