David Holsinger emigrated from Germany to America, accompanied by his son, Michael, and settled in Rockingham, formerly Augusta, County, Virginia. No record has been found of David's date or place of arrival in the United States or when he settled in Virginia. Michael, who was a farmer and basket maker, married Barbara, by whom he had eight children. Michael died in August 1819 and is buried in the family plot on Holsinger farm.
