La reforme du droit chinois des obligations a atteint une etape remarquable avec la promulgation de la Loi du 15 mars 1999 relative aux contrats (la LCC), sur laquelle le droit uniforme international, notamment la CVIM et les Principes d'UNIDROIT, a exerce une influence tres nette. Cette influence intervenue a un tel moment n'etait pas le fruit d'un hasard. Elle s'explique tant par des raisons intrinseques du droit uniforme international que par des raisons extrinseques liees a la reforme economique de la Chine. En effet, le prestige et la qualite du droit uniforme international repondaient parfaitement aux objectifs recherches par le legislateur chinois soucieux d'etablir un droit des obligations qui tout a la fois repond a l'economie de marche, etablit l'autonomie de la volonte, allie l'efficacite economique et la justice sociale et surtout, qui est en harmonie avec la pratique internationale. La Loi finalement adoptee n'a pas manque l'occasion d'absorber des regles du droit uniforme international. Parallelement le legislateur chinois a cherche constamment a objectiver, a preciser ou a innover les regles du droit uniforme international.
