The work comprises two volumes, each dealing with an aspect of culture from the evolutionary as well as from the comparative point of view. The first volume deals with education in the fullest and highest sense of the term, the second volume deals with education in the fullest and highest sense of the term, the second volume deals with Indian Polity through the ages. The learned author has made an attempt to sketch, in the light of the original sources, the public life in India from the earliest ages down to the beginnings of British rule.
