Book Description
Animal Life and Intelligence is an interesting volume that is almost equally divided between the two topics, as suggested by its title. In the earlier chapters, there are outstanding accounts of the essence of animal life and its connection to the environment; of the cycles of life; of reproduction and development; of variation and natural selection; of heredity and the origin of variations; and of organic evolution. The chapters thereafter deal with the senses and sense organs of animals; the nature of cognitive functions in man, serving as a ground for our judgment as to the nature and amount of animal intelligence; the mental operations of animals are afterward thoroughly and carefully discussed in three very suggestive chapters, and the final and very metaphysical chapter is on mental development. Conwy Lloyd Morgan (1852 – 1936) was a British ethologist and psychologist. He is remembered for his theory of emergent evolution and for the experimental approach to animal psychology, now known as Morgan's Canon, a principle that played a major role in behaviorism. In this work, he has discussed interesting subjects with a fullness of knowledge and judicial impartiality worthy of all praise.

Now, in this groundbreaking book Practical Intelligence, Albrecht takes the next step and explains how practical intelligence (PI) qualifies as one of the key life skills and offers a conceptual structure for defining and describing common sense. Throughout Practical Intelligence, Albrecht explains that people with practical intelligence can employ language skills, make better decisions, think in terms of options and possibilities, embrace ambiguity and complexity, articulate problems clearly and work through to solutions, have original ideas, and influence the ideas of others. Albrecht shows that everyone’s PI skills can be improved with proper education and training and challenges all of us—from parents and teachers to executives and managers—to upgrade our own skills and help others develop their own PI abilities.

Book Description
Humanity’s psychological and behavioral skills are the most useful area to manage for today’s organizations. Workplaces, schools and many others organizations are investing resources in humans as capital due to these remarkable skills, in recognition of the fact that humans are our most precious capital within society. Many psychiatric treatments have been created to harness the human as capital within academic and workplace settings. This book gives the readers the opportunity to analyze the organization which promotes, or prevents, disruptive behaviour in human capital during their incubating process, that is, the household. Taylor’s management theory opened people’s eyes to the potential of humans’ physical capabilities, but this theory of psychological capital emphasizes positive psychological aspects, taking heed of organizational behaviour. This specific skill is needs to be aligned with today’s worldwide business activity. The family is the first legitimated social group to help the human being in this specific area, making them successful in life.
