The Committee on Education and the Workforce, to whom was referred the bill (H.R. 4278) to amend the Assistive Technology Act of 1998 to support programs of grants to States to address the assistive technology needs of individuals with disabilities, and for other purposes, having considered the same, report favorably thereon with an amendment and recommend that the bill as amended do pass. Sections of "Improving Access to Assistive Technology for Individuals with Disabilities Act of 2004" include: (1) Findings and purposes; (3) Definitions; (4) Grants to States for purchase of assistive technology devices and assistive technology services; (5) Grants to States for protection and advocacy related to assistive technology; (6) Administrative provisions; (7) National activities; and (8) Authorization of appropriations.
