Book Description
I am a dichotomy of a human being, created and wonderfully made of a yin and of a yang, of "a right" and of "a wrong." I am a duality of light and of darkness; a combination of both good and evil. I am One in the two; separated but whole, and I am a shattering completion in the glass.I have come to an understanding that we are spiritual beings in a physical body, and because of the body, it is natural to view this world through physical eyes. It is how we see. However, there is a difference between "physical sight" and "spiritual vision," and for one to gain access and become One with the Kingdom of Heaven, he or she must simply adjust their view of this Kingdom here on Earth. They are parallel Kingdoms indeed. The picture on the cover of this memoir was taken in a broken mirror that was lying on the streets of West Hollywood, California. And unlike most snapshots in the entertainment capital of the world, this one has not been photoshopped. I have suffered three extreme relapses to drugs and alcohol since this photograph was taken of myself in 2015, and multiple ones prior to this date; predominantly due to my own, personal 30-year struggle with alcohol, Xanax, cocaine and methamphetamine addictions. I have come to, yet another, great understanding that I do not have to condemn or hate my entire being when only half of my anatomy is worthy to be discarded and abhorred. Surely, if you are like me; addict or not, you understand the darkness as opposed to the light. If so, will you PLEASE consider my heart, for it has been poured out and "fearfully" spilled onto the pages of this memoir unto thee.

Book Description
DO YOU LOVE YOURSELF? Most people have never even asked themselves that question, let alone know how to answer it. This is because we live under a modern plague, where masses struggle to love themselves as God loves them. Very few understand how to love themselves in a healthy way and have no tools to break free from the resistance that blocks them. Jesus said that we are to love our neighbor "as ourselves." Yet that phrase seems to be the most ignored command of the Bible. The fruit of our relationships hinges on our ability to loves ourselves with the love that God has for us. So many struggle in a daily battle that keeps them from the freedom that love has. In this book, Mark will utilize his personal freedom experience and over 20 years working with people to unlock the missing link to powerful relationships. In this book, you will be equipped to move into the power of self-love by: - Learning what healthy self-love is and what it is not. - Identifying the resistance that blocks people from loving themselves. - Observing how a lack of self-love affects every area of our lives. - Unlocking practical ways to gain freedom and to love yourself as God does. - Receiving important tools that you can practice immediately to overcome. - Putting healthy self-love into action to give and receive love powerfully!

Book Description
"God is our home but many of us have strayed from our native land. The venerable authors of these Spiritual Classics are expert guides-- may we follow their directions home." --Archbishop Desmond Tutu Writing in the last years of the fourth century a.d., Saint Augustine of Hippo created what is at once the first true autobiography in Western literature and among the most sophisticated yet accessible theological arguments in the history of Christianity. With extraordinary candor and psychological acumen, Augustine recounts his passage from a life of sensuality, Manichaean superstition, and empty careerism to a genuine spiritual awakening, and he articulates views on marriage, morality, and faith that have shaped our discourse ever since. The Confessions allows us to appreciate both the startling modernity of Augustine's insights and the imperishable poetry of his voice. With a new Preface by MacArthur Fellow Patricia Hampl, author of Virgin Time and A Romantic Education. In the annals of spirituality, certain books stand out both for their historical importance and for their continued relevance. The Vintage Spiritual Classics series offers the greatest of these works in authoritative new editions, with specially commissioned essays by noted contemporary commentators. Filled with eloquence and fresh insight, encouragement and solace, Vintage Spiritual Classics are incomparable resources for all readers who seek a more substantive understanding of mankind's relation to the divine.

Book Description
Revisit one of the most important pillars in modern philosophy with this new English translation—the first in more than 60 years—of Jean-Paul Sartre’s seminal treatise on existentialism. “This is a philosophy to be reckoned with, both for its own intrinsic power and as a profound symptom of our time” (The New York Times). In 1943, Jean-Paul Sartre published his masterpiece, Being and Nothingness, and laid the foundation of his legacy as one of the greatest twentieth century philosophers. A brilliant and radical account of the human condition, Being and Nothingness explores what gives our lives significance. In a new and more accessible translation, this foundational text argues that we alone create our values and our existence is characterized by freedom and the inescapability of choice. Far from being an internal, passive container for our thoughts and experiences, human consciousness is constantly projecting itself into the outside world and imbuing it with meaning. Now with a new foreword by Harvard professor of philosophy Richard Moran, this clear-eyed translation guarantees that the groundbreaking ideas that Sartre introduced in this resonant work will continue to inspire for generations to come.
