Students need to be equipped with twenty-first century skills in the area of technology as well as the ability to problem solve and think critically. They also need to be given learner-based problems to develop their skills. Teachers should be trained and given time to integrate new technology strategies into their current curriculum. Parents need to be educated as well to support students at home. If all three areas are met, all students will be better prepared to be global citizens. This project identifies research based methods of integrating technology into elementary classrooms and will implement them into a third grade classroom. It also incorporates teacher training and a parent technology night to promote integration and participation in other classrooms and at home. As a result of integration, students effectively learned new technologies and showed increase problem solving and critical thinking skills. This was met with increased student motivation to learn the content. Other classroom teachers are beginning to try more integration in their classrooms; however, planning time and professional development are still needed.
