In recent years, tuberculosis (TB) has re-emerged as a serious public problem placing additional demands on public health agencies throughout the U.S. The changing epidemiology of TB in Minnesota has necessitated an examination of existing public health TB control activities to determine whether they are adequate to protect the public from this resurgent disease. This report presents information on the costs of TB control. Then, several areas where inadequate funding has impeded public health TB control efforts are identified, & funding mechanisms to address those needs are set forth.
