John Hess (1685-1733) possibly was born at Wald (Zurich), Switzerland. He emigrated to Pennsylvania and settled in Conestoga Twp., Lancaster Co. before 1718. He is referred to in the records as "Hans" Hess. He married Magdalena "Mandlin" about 1705. They were buried in the Hess Cemetery near Baumgardner Station. They were the parents of eleven children. Several generations of descendants are given.
