Surah Yusuf (Nabi Yusuf AS) adalah surah ke-12 dalam Al-Qur'an. Surah ini terdiri atas 111 ayat dan termasuk golongan surah Makkiyah. Surah ini dinamakan surah Yusuf adalah karena titik berat dari isinya mengenai riwayat Nabi Yusuf AS. Riwayat tersebut salah satu di antara cerita-cerita gaib yang diwahyukan kepada Nabi Muhammad SAW sebagai mukjizat bagi beliau, sedang Rasulullah sebelum diturunkan surah ini tidak mengetahuinya. Dari cerita Nabi Yusuf AS ini, Nabi Muhammad SAW mengambil pelajaran-pelajaran yang banyak dan merupakan penghibur bagi beliau untuk menghadapi berbagai ujian dalam menjalankan tugasnya untuk menyebarkan ajaran islam di bumi ini. Menurut riwayat Al Baihaqi dalam kitab Ad-Dalail bahwa segolongan orang Yahudi masuk agama Islam sesudah mereka mendengar cerita Yusuf ini, karena sesuai dengan cerita-cerita yang mereka ketahui. Surah Yusuf (Prophet Yusuf ) is the 12th sura (chapter) of the Quran. It is said to have been revealed in a single sitting, being unique in this respect. The text narrates the story of Yusuf (the biblical Joseph). While other surahs tend to jump between topics, this sura is special in sticking to its central theme throughout, telling a coherent story in chronological order. There is no confirmed time when surat Yusuf was revealed, but it is estimated to be either in the 10th or 11th year of dawah. In other words, it is known to have been revealed 2 or 3 years before the hijrah (Migration) from Makkah to Madina which is close to the end of the Makkan era and Makkan journey. This Sura was revealed after a year the scholars of seerah call 'am al huzun' (the year of Sorrow or Despair). This year was a sad and depressing time for Prophet Mohammad SAW.

Scholarly works considering traditional Malay letters from a literary point of view are scarce. In this book, classical Malay literature of the 16th through the 19th centuries is viewed in the context of more than a millennium of medieval Malay letters. In the first part, based on a reconstruction of the literary self-awareness of the Malays, a model is offered of classical Malay literature as an integral, hierarchically arranged a ‘anthropomorphic’ system, the impetus for its formation being the Islamization of the Malay world. A study of the origin and evolution of all genres of Malay literature, as well as an analysis of some exemplary works with special reference to their poetics, provide the factual basis for the suggested model. The second part of the book treats of the aesthetics of classical Malay literature, first and foremost the central notion of the sphere of beauty, ‘the beautiful’ (indah). Its divine origin, internal properties-such as the diversity of manifestations, perfection, orderliness-capable of arousing love and thus producing a harmonizing effect on the human psyche, are considered, as well as the synthesis of Hindu-Javanese and Muslim components in Malay literature aesthetics. This is the first study that aims to present a coherent view of the entire body of classical Malay literature. In a novel and stimulating approach, the organizing principles of Malay literature are seen as a system in which the various genres are allotted their proper place.

Surah ini juga dinamai Fustatul Qur'an (Puncak Al-Qur'an) karena memuat beberapa hukum yang tidak disebutkan dalam surah yang lain. Dinamai juga surah Alif Lam Mim karena ayat pertama di surah berisi tiga huruf arab yakni Alif, Lam, dan Mim. The Cow or Surah al-Baqarah is the second and longest chapter (Surah) of The Noble Qur'an. It consists of 286 verses. It is a Medinan surah, that is to say that it was revealed at Medina after the Hijrah, with the exception of a few verses which Muslims believe was revealed during the Farewell Pilgrimage, the last Hajj of Prophet Muhammad SAW. This is the longest Surah in The Noble Quran. It was the first Surah to be revealed at Medina, but different verses were revealed at different times, covering quite a long period so much so that the verses with regard to riba (interest or usury) were revealed in the final days of Prophet Muhammad SAW, after the conquest of Makkah (Maariful Quran). Verse 281 in this chapter was the last verse of The Noble Quran to be revealed, on the 10th of Dhul al Hijjah 10 A.H, when Prophet Muhammad SAW was in the course of performing his last Hajj, and only 80 or 90 days later he died (Qurtubi). Surah al-Baqarah enjoins fasting on the believer during the holy month of Ramadan.
