Excerpt: ...vcnarum minimarum, liegen in Gestalt zahlreicher sehr feiner, oft nui punktformiger Oeffnungen oder kleiner Grubchen, namentlich in der Gegend des septum atriorum und an der rechten Wand. Die Scheidewand der Atrien bleibt im Bereich einer langlich-rundlichen bis eiformigen Stelle muskelfrei und daher durchscheinend, pars membranacea septi atriorum. Es ist die Stelle, welche als foramen ovale (s. ob. p. 348) bis zur Geburt offen bleibt und sich erst allmahlich in der Regel schliesst. An der von der Vorhofsscheidewand gebildeten linken Wand des rechten atrium erscheint die Stelle der pars membranacea septi in Gestalt einer flachen Vertiefung, fossa ovalis ge440. nannt. Diese liegt im untern Abschnitt des septum und ist in der Richtung von oben nach unten langer als in der Richtung von vorn nach hinten. Sie ist von einem, besonders am vordem und obern Umfang kraftig entwickelten muskulosen Ringwulst, dem limbus fossae ovalis (Vieussenii) umgeben. Er stellt den Rand des ursprunglichen foramen ovale dar und scheint durch das hier nicht sehr dicke Endocard hindurch. Im ubrigen ist die Scheidewandflache des rechten Vorhofs glatt und entbehrt der musculi pectinati. Letztere finden sich nicht nur im ganzen Herzohr, sondern auch an der rechten Wand des eigentlichen atrium, wahrend sie im Venensinus fehlen: sie beginnen also erst an der crista terminalis. Sie gehen von der rechten Wand aus ohne Grenze ins Herzohr uber. Die rechte Herzkammer, ventriculus dexter. Taf. 50. Die rechte Kammer, ventriculus dexter (uber ihre Ausdehnung auf der 439.440.442. ausseren Fluche des Herzens s. ob. p. 350) hat ungefahr kegelformige Gestalt. Gegen den linken...
