Book Description
Growing up, author Justice Cannon lived with the principles: No struggle, no strength and only the strong survive. In Prepare for the Flood, she shares the dramatic details of her life, including a turbulent childhood and how she remained steadfast and strong and survived. This memoir tells how Cannons grandmother, suffering from cancer, played an important role in her young world, instilling the importance of prayer in her life. But after her grandmothers death, Cannon faced many challenges, such as being raised by a single mother who drank and smoked marijuana and how she dealt with the estrangement after her mom was sent to prison for murder. Prepare for the Flood offers a collection of stories giving insight into one womans world that included being preyed upon by a pedophile as child. It narrates how she witnessed friends turning into enemies and family killed by family. But it also presents a testimony of the power of God and following his purpose for ones life.

Book Description
This volume provides an introduction to the English Profile Programme and discusses its latest findings. English Profile in Practice is an essential resource for teachers, syllabus designers, educational planners, language testers, and other ELT professionals working with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). It includes: information about the English Vocabulary Profile, which describes the words and phrases learners of English know and use at each level of the CEFR; fascinating insights into the English Grammar Profile, exploring what it means to develop grammatical proficiency; discussion about what language learners' output 'looks like' at each of the CEFR levels; and information about how English Profile research is being used in the field of ELT.

Book Description
This thesis deals with the Electrohydraulic Power Steering system for road vehicles, using electronic pressure control valves. With an ever increasing demand for safer vehicles and fewer traffic accidents, steering-related active safety functions are becoming more common in modern vehicles. Future road vehicles will also evolve towards autonomous vehicles, with several safety, environmental and financial benefits. A key component in realising such solutions is active steering. The power steering system was initially developed to ease the driver's workload by assisting in turning the wheels. This is traditionally done through a passive open-centre hydraulic system and heavy trucks must still rely on fluid power, due to the heavy work forces. Since the purpose of the original system is to control the assistive pressure, one way would be to use proportional pressure control valves. Since these are electronically controlled, active steering is possible and with closed-centre, energy efficiency can be significantly improved on. In this work, such a system is analysed in detail with the purpose of investigating the possible use of the system for Boost curve control and position control for autonomous driving. Commercially available valves are investigated since they provide an attractive solution. A model-based approach is adopted, where simulation of the system is an important tool. Another important tool is hardware-in-the-loop simulation. A test rig of an electrohydraulic power steering system, is developed. This work has shown how proportional pressure control valves can be used for Boost curve control and position control and what implications this has on a system level. As it turns out, the valves add a great deal of time lag and with the high gain from the Boost curve, this creates a control challenge. The problem can be handled by tuning the Boost gain, pressure response and damping and has been effectively shown through simulation and experiments. For position control, there is greater freedom to design the controller to fit the system. The pressure response can be made fast enough for this case and the time lag is much less critical.

Book Description
This book entitled “Health and Hygiene” has been authored keeping in view the instructions issued in New Education Policy of India for the students of UG and PG (Zoology; Home Science and Environmental Science) students. Problem of Health and Hygiene has been highlighted by hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi Ji in the past years. Health is defined as a state of being free from illness or injury. It also includes a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being. Hygiene is defined as a series of practices and performances to preserve health. As there is scattered matter on health and hygiene hence a comprehensive attempt has been taken to compose this book in limited seven chapters namely; Public Health and Hygiene; Nutrition and Human Health; Nutritional regulatory physiology; Food Additives and Human Health; Communicable Disease like measles; Polio; Chicken Guniya; Rabies; Plague; Leprosy and AIDS. Also non-communicable diseases like Hypertension (High Blood Pressure); Coronary heart disease; Stroke; Diabetes; Obesity and Mental disorders has been described. The book may be helpful for general public and also students of paramedical sciences and medical sciences. Besides the afore mentioned topics, pathogenic nature of microbes has also been described in this book. The book has been written in lucid and fair language for better understanding of students of various Colleges and Universities of India. Where so ever required tables and diagrams and data has also been incorporated. Lack of comprehensive treatise on Human Health and Hygiene has prompted this humble piece of work leading to the problems of health and hygiene. This will prove an ideal text book for UG and PG students of Zoology, Environmental Science, Home Science looking for a comprehensive source on a wide variety of topics related with health and hygiene. Inclusion of communicable and non-communicable diseases could be an added advantage for the readers. It is hoped that the book will be an invaluable tool for students, researchers, teachers and practitioners also working in the field of health and hygiene.
