In 2000,Congress enacted the TraffickingVictims Protection Act (TVPA) tocombat trafficking andreauthorized this act twice. Thisreport reviews U.S. internationalantitrafficking efforts by examining(1) estimates of the extent of globaltrafficking, (2) the U.S.government's strategy forcombating the problem abroad, and(3) the Department of State'sprocess for evaluating foreigngovernments' antitrafficking efforts.
