We contend a single female member of the parent species colonised earth for the purpose of reproduction. She drove the complexity of life on earth until one species, homo sapiens, evolved a large brain and the ability to host a consciousness reproductive cell of a male parent species. Charles Darwin called his book On the Origin of Species but natural selection is not about the 'origin' of anything. His theory was not about the 'origin' of species, nor about the 'origin' of life. Natural selection argues the case for how one 'living' species might gradually evolve into another 'living' species. It has nothing to do with how anything originated. Supporters of this concept foster the myth that with enough throws of the dice, with enough random coin flips, then blind probability can design complexity. It cannot.

No doubt there are people with mild dyslexia who can be taught to read and spell. Unfortunately there are others, myself included, who will never have adequate literacy skills. I still get told; "If I really tried to learn to read I could do it!" That makes me really mad. In A Theodicy for a Suffering World with a Hidden God, Philip Pegan develops a theodicy in answer to these questions. This theodicy is consistent with theological determinism—the belief that everything is determined by the will of God—and with the possibility that human beings are entirely physical in nature. It affirms that all creatures capable of suffering will eventually enjoy a life of eternal happiness and shows that it is plausible that, if God allows suffering in such a creature, there is an outweighing good that he can bring about in the life of that creature. Pegan’s theodicy is compatible with the claim that the world is unsurpassably good. It assumes value realism but could be revised in a way that preserves its framework and main substance while assuming value antirealism.
