Book Description
Find help and hope for times when it's hard to wait on God Do you ever feel like God is taking too long to answer your prayers? Have you ever taken matters into your own hands, only to discover that you’ve made the situation worse? Waiting on God challenges our faith when the bills are stacking up, our families are falling apart, or our dreams feel like they won't come true. We know that God hears our prayers, but it’s hard when the clock is ticking yet He hasn’t shown us the answer. In this four-week Bible study, Barb Roose invites us to explore the stories of women in the Bible who had to wait on God— women such as Hannah, Ruth, Tamar, and the unnamed woman who suffered for over a decade with a painful medical condition. If you’ve felt anxious, angry, discouraged or depressed because God isn’t giving you what you want, their stories will breathe fresh hope and practical next steps in your life. As a reforming control lover, Barb mixes in her personal stories of learning how to wait for God during long seasons of unanswered prayers, family difficulties, and challenging times in ministry. Together we will discover that there is goodness and blessing to be found in times of waiting, including a closer relationship with God than we’ve ever dared to dream. Other components for the Bible study, available separately, include a DVD. "Barb Roose tackles the topic of patience in a way that really hit home for me personally. I have a lot of “why, how, and when” questions for God. Combining in-depth Scripture study with practical tools and personal stories, this study is one of the best I’ve ever read! —Melissa Spoelstra, Bible teacher, speaker, and author of Romans: Good News That Changes Everything and numerous other Bible studies and books When waiting is hard and long, the last thing you need is someone disregarding your pain, with platitudes like “just push through.” In I’m Waiting, God, Barb walks with us in our waiting. Warm, tender, and a help for moving forward, Barb’s study has left me stronger, knowing I can wait so His glory is seen. —Lynn Cowell, author of Make Your Move and member of the Proverbs 31 Ministries speaker and writer team Barb Roose is a wonderful role model of walking out biblical truth while in life’s waiting room. This study is a must read for anyone wondering what to do while waiting and wanting to stay close to God in the meantime. —Pam Farrel, best-selling author of over forty books, including Discovering Hope in the Psalms: A Creative Bible Study Experience Bible Study Features: A shorter four-week study is ideal for in-between or busy times. Book Description
Teens and young adult women are highly likely to experience some level of body dissatisfaction, which if ignored can result in unhealthy dieting habits, anorexia or bulimia. One in ten adolescent females experience threshold or subthreshold bulimia nervosa, but less than 25% of them ever seek treatment. Because body dissatisfaction is so prevalent in our society, it is often overlooked until it becomes a life-threatening illness. Treating low body image before it turns into a more serious health risk is the best way to protect young women's health. This intervention program stops the onset of dangerous body dissatisfaction by teaching participants to understand and reject the hoax of society's 'thin ideal.' Young women in college are at a particularly high risk for dangerous body dissatisfaction, and this risk can be exponentially increased for members of sororities. In efforts to combat this problem, many sororities now offer eating disorder awareness programs for their members. This adaptation of the successful Body Project program is designed specifically for use by sororities - workbook examples, exercises, and facilitator's instructions have all been tailored for use in a sorority setting. The accompanying workbook contains various assignments that keep participants thinking critically about the thin ideal.

The successful implementation of evidence into practice is dependent on aligning the available evidence to the particular context through the active ingredient of facilitation. Designed to support the widely recognised PARIHS framework, which works as a guide to plan, action and evaluate the implementation of evidence into practice, this book provides a very practical ‘how-to’ guide for facilitating the whole process. This text discusses: undertaking an initial diagnosis of the context and reaching a consensus on the evidence to be implemented; how to link the research evidence with clinical and patients’ experience and local information in the form of audit data or patient and staff feedback; the range of diagnostic, consensus building and stakeholder consultation methods that can be helpful; a description of facilitator roles and facilitation methods, tools and techniques; some of theories that underpin the PARIHS framework and how these have been integrated to inform a revised version of PARIHS Including internationally-sourced case study examples to illustrate how the facilitation role and facilitation skills have been applied in a range of different health care settings, this is the ideal text for those interested in leading or facilitating evidence based implementation projects, from the planning stage through to evaluation.
