Excerpt from Foreign News on Vegetables: February 5, 1936 Summary: Imports of vegetables of all sorts into the United States totaled short tons in the fiscal year 1954-55, July to June. This is somewhat less than the quantity imported in 1955-54. Of the 1954 - 55 total, short tons were green vegetables, root vegetables, dried vegetables and short tons were canned vegetables. Imports of green vegetables were valued at vegetables at dried vegetables at and canned M vegetables at a total value for 1954-55 or about the same tetal value as 1955-54. With the exception of imports of root vegetables, particularly potatoes which showed a heavy decline, hnports were generally larger than in 1955-54.
