Field notes Vol. 230 documents seeds collected by John Kunkel Small in Florida in November 1912 and planted in Bermuda by Nathaniel Lord Britton and Stewardson Brown on December 3, 1912. The list of 72 seeds was written by Britton and includes plant name and a code designating the location it was planted. Following the list is a key to the locations. There is also an entry dated September 13, 1913 noting that Britton and Brown visited the planting sites and found no evidence that any of the seeds had germinated. Tipped into the notebook are photocopies of two letters from Small to Britton, written from Miami, Florida on November 21 and 23, 1912, regarding the collection of the seeds and shipment to Britton in Bermuda.
