Book Description
Rory Noland addresses the challenges of Christian worship head-on, offering practical suggestions gleaned from Scripture on understanding and experiencing vibrant worship. The first half of Worship on Earth as It Is in Heaven explores what it means to grow as a private worshiper. The practices of the psalmist David provide insight to help people worship God on their own. Second, Noland discusses corporate worship by exploring the glorious gatherings in heaven, as described in the book of Revelation. He presents immediately applicable ideas for becoming a better corporate worshiper. This book includes: • Slice-of-church-life scenarios. Every chapter begins with a brief scenario that presents a worship-related issue or a conflict corresponding to the chapter topic. • Group discussion questions. Based on the opening scenario, these questions help readers think about and discuss worship-related topics from different perspectives. • Issue-by-issue practical guidance from a biblical perspective. • “Ponder and Apply” application questions. Each chapter ends with a series of discussion questions and action steps to help readers identify key insights and make personal applications.

Book Description
A number of the basic tenets of Jewish belief regarding the afterlife, resurrection, immortality, judgment, messianism, and the world to come are laid out in this fascinating and accessible volume. Beginning with the Bible’s references to Sheol and its allusions to resurrection, this survey explores immortality and bodily resurrection in Second Temple literature; the Mishnah’s discussions of olam ha-ba, or the world to come, and how to merit entry into it; and the Talmud’s depictions of paradise and hell, and the soul’s journey through these metaphysical landscapes. The book also explores the views of medieval scholars such as Maimonides and Nahmanides, Jewish mystical teachings about reincarnation, and modern views of faith and belief, as well as the evolving view of the Messiah over the course of Jewish history. This absorbing study demonstrates that the afterlife is indeed a vital part of Judaism as it reveals how generations of Jews, from biblical times to the present, have grappled with the core ideas and beliefs about the hereafter.

Book Description
This collection of unique works by 150 Los Angeles graffiti and tattoo artists represents an unprecedented collaboration across the city’s diverse artistic landscape. Many graffiti artists carry sketchbooks, called black books, and they ask crew members and others whose work they admire to inscribe their books with lettering or drawings. A few years ago, the Getty Research Institute invited artists, including Angst, Axis, Big Sleeps, Chaz, Cre8, Defer, EyeOne, Fishe, Heaven, Hyde, Look, ManOne, and Prime, to consider the idea of a citywide graffiti black book. During visits to the Getty Center, the artists viewed rare books related to calligraphy and letterforms, including works by Albrecht Dürer and Leonardo da Vinci. The artists instantly recognized the connections to their own practices and were particularly drawn to a liber amicorum (book of friends), a form of autograph book popular in the seventeenth century. Passed from hand to hand, it was filled with signatures, poetry, and coats of arms, like a black book from another era. Inspired by this meeting of minds across centuries, these artists became both creators and curators, crafting their own pages and inviting others to contribute. Eventually 150 Los Angeles artists decorated 143 individual pages. These were bound together into an exquisite artists’ book that became known as the Getty Graffiti Black Book. This publication reproduces each page from the original artists’ book and recounts the story of an unprecedented collaboration across the diverse artistic landscape of Los Angeles.

Book Description
The most advanced book on Spiritual Warfare to date (Vol 1 of a series) - Learn the difference between demon and Fallen Angels!! The beginning of this book is a complete guide to Spiritual Warfare. Then Bruce Hines moves to detail a vast group of Fallen Angels and demonic spirits that have a highly structured organization of levels and grades according to numbers. Within this hierarchy, they are organized as a kingdom of four different dimensions in the Second Heaven. These different Fallen Angels within each of the four dimensions have descending orders of authorities and different rulers and sub rulers according to grade and number responsible for different areas of authority in the Second Heaven which rule over the earth through the minds of mankind. This multi-leveled kingdom of Fallen Angels has hordes of demonic spirits who work for them. The Fallen seek to create environments in which they exercise a dominating influence through demonic activity. The Bible speaks of the Fallen Angels as the corner point or the start of something. They are pictured as military leaders of demonic realms. The Bible labels them as thrones, dominions, principalities and powers. They have far superior power than demonic forces and have particular roles in controlling the destiny and activities of human beings. This book is the first of a series on how to defeat Fallen Angels and demonic forces that work for them. It assumes the reader knows about spiritual warfare but, it was written to advance the one who knows very little about spiritual warfare. This series is a must read for every intercessor and recommended for everyone in the body of Christ!

Book Description
Heaven fascinates us, yet we lack any empirical information about it. Why, despite our multiple faith traditions, does Heaven have such positive connotations for us all? Why, despite no tangible evidence, should autobiographies by authors who claim to have visited Heaven, usually through near death experiences, attract literally millions of readers? Why does virtually everyone, even non-believers, agree with the old adage that "There is nothing better than Heaven"? Since a picture is worth a thousand words, Heaven on My Mind will focus more on true stories than on explication. In this book, the author shows how the prospectively gathered spiritual and religious biographies of the men in Harvard's legendary Study of Adult Development (The Grant Study) cast light upon the significance of faith and hope for love in Heaven in real lives. The author intends to show that putting the newly discovered concept of prospection together with our ancient faith in heaven allows us to understand the value of ruminating on an afterlife. Indeed, the life histories of the 184 men followed for their life-time in Harvard's path-breaking Study of Adult Development faith in Heaven is significantly associated with leading more successful lives.Due to recent advances in neurophysiology, the study of prospection reflects a paradigm shift in our understanding of the human mind. Prospection reflects the fact that the brain combines incoming information with stored information to build "mental representations" of the external world.Dr. Seligman and his colleagues' book, Homo Prospectus (2016) revolutionizes modern psychology and supplants the past oriented psychology of Skinner, Freud and cognitive psychology with future oriented psychology suggested by this recently discovered neuroscience. It is prospection that allows us "to fight the next war, not the last war."The author received a Templeton grant to study prospection by reanalyzing The Harvard Study of Adult Development (The Grant Study). Since 1939, the landmark Grant Study has conducted a prospective - in contrast to retrospective - lifelong social and medical study of a cohort of healthy college males. In order to document whether religious affiliation increased over time, beginning at age 47, every 6 years the author, as the longtime Grant Study Director, has asked the men about the intensity of their religious affiliation and the degree of their belief in life after death. Heaven on My Mind uses these spiritual and religious biographies to illuminate the significance of faith and hope for Heaven. In short, Heaven on My Mind will reflect the "natural history" of the men's religious affiliation and their prospection of - and their expectations about - Heaven over the course of their lives.Admittedly, the Study surveyed a very narrow sample; it only studied the lives of 184 socially privileged, not very religious, Jewish and Christian men born around 1920. However, it is to the author's knowledge that this is the only study in the world to follow prospectively the religious development of human beings over a lifetime. As in time-lapse photography, all of the men visibly evolved; "caterpillars" were transformed into "butterflies". The majority of men became more resilient, more mature and more open. For 40 years, readers have found such human transformations in the longitudinal studies of the author's books fascinating. The author believes Heaven on my Mind will be yet another major chapter in the research toward fully understanding the Study of Adult Development.
