Book Description
It is commonplace that in our time science and technology cannot be mastered without the tools of mathematics; but the same applies to an ever growing extent to many domains of everyday life, not least owing to the spread of cybernetic methods and arguments. As a consequence, there is a wide demand for a survey of the results of mathematics, for an unconventional approach that would also make it possible to fill gaps in one's knowledge. We do not think that a mere juxtaposition of theorems or a collection of formulae would be suitable for this purpose, because this would over emphasize the symbolic language of signs and letters rather than the mathematical idea, the only thing that really matters. Our task was to describe mathematical interrelations as briefly and precisely as possible. In view of the overwhelming amount of material it goes without saying that we did not just compile details from the numerous text-books for individual branches: what we were aiming at is to smooth out the access to the specialist literature for as many readers as possible. Since well over 700000 copies of the German edition of this book have been sold, we hope to have achieved our difficult goal. Colours are used extensively to help the reader. Important definitions and groups of formulae are on a yellow background, examples on blue, and theorems on red.

Book Description
Author's aim is to make the readers easily understand the theory of complex variables. He explains this subject matter from a rudimentary to advanced level in a very simple manner. Organized in two parts, this book explains exact definitions of different terms used by supplying worked-out examples wherever found necessary. A large number of examples have been solved in the book to acquaint the readers with different techniques. Furthermore, a large number of problems have been supplied with answers at the end of each chapter. The first part of the book (Chapters 1 through 11) containing analysis of complex variables will be useful for the undergraduate students of engineering and science. The second part of the book (Chapters 12 through 20) is written in complex domain and is targeted towards advanced level readers who are either pursuing postgraduate studies in Mathematics or research in Applied Mathematics. The first part is prerequisite for this section of the book.

Book Description
Containing more than 6,000 entries, CRC Standard Mathematical Tables and Formulas, 33rd Edition continues to provide essential formulas, tables, figures and detailed descriptions. The newest edition of this popular series also features many diagrams, group tables, and integrals that are not available online. This edition also incorporates important topics such as max plus algebra, financial options, pseudospectra, and proof methods. Newly updated topics reflecting new results include couple analogues, radar, and significant equations of mathematics. New features of the 33rd edition include: Larger trim size, five new topics, and topics which have been modified to update results Provides practical, ready-to-use information and covers important topics that are unfamiliar to many readers, such as visual proofs and sequences Includes hard-to-find and more complete information than found in the Internet such as table of conformal mappings and integral tables Adds descriptions of new functions: Lambert, prolate spheroidal, and Weierstrass Even though the book has been updated it retains the same successful format of previous editions in that material is still presented in a multi-sectional format.

Book Description
This second edition provides a broad range of methods and concepts required for the analysis and solution of equations which arise in the modeling of phenomena in the natural, engineering, and applied mathematical sciences. It may be used productively by both undergraduate and graduate students, as well as others who wish to learn, understand, and apply these techniques. Detailed discussions are also given for several topics that are not usually included in standard textbooks at this level of presentation: qualitative methods for differential equations, dimensionalization and scaling, elements of asymptotics, difference equations and several perturbation procedures. Further, this second edition includes several new topics covering functional equations, the Lambert-W function, nonstandard sets of periodic functions, and the method of dominant balance. Each chapter contains a large number of worked examples and provides references to the appropriate books and literature.
