Cette étude rétrospective, qui consistait en l'étude de scores douloureux recueillis après une chirurgie implantaire de 2008 à 2017 avait pour objectif d'identifier ces facteurs et d'en mesurer l'importance. L'étude a porté sur 942 patients et a permis de montrer que la douleur moyenne ressentie après une pose d'implant est légère (avec une EVA moyenne de 1,57) et qu'elle est influencée significativement par le sexe du patient, le nombre d'implants posés, le recours à une greffe sinusienne dans le même temps opératoire et la réclinaison d'un lambeau. L'âge, la provenance du patient (adressé ou non), la position des implants et le protocole d'extraction implantation immédiate ne semblent pas influencer la douleur post-opératoire de façon significative.
