Las técnicas multicriterio de ayuda a la decisión han sido objeto de gran desarrollo y aplicación en las últimas décadas. Dentro de este grupo, el Proceso Analítico Jerárquico (Analytic Hierarchy Process), habitualmente referido con el acrónimo AHP y desarrollado a finales del pasado siglo por el profesor Thomas L. Saaty, es una de las técnicas cuyo estudio ha suscitado mayor producción científicay debate. Uno de los aspectos más relevantes de las técnicas multicriterio en general y del AHP en particular es la variedad de campos del conocimiento y de la ingeniería en los que se han aplicado y se siguen aplicando con éxito. Por su parte, la recuperación de los bienes inmuebles del patrimonio industrial para nuevas actividades supone, por un lado, un a oportunidad para hacer su conservación sostenible en el tiempo y, por otro lado, representa un riesgo en la medida que la intervención pueda ser agresiva con los valores patrimoniales contenidos en sus partes. En este libro se exploran las posibilidades que el AHP puede tener en el campo del patrimonio industrial, como soporte de las estructuras de criterios a considerar, primero en la valoración patrimonial de los bienes y segundo en la selección de nuevos usos compatibles. La presente obra plantea vías metodológicas útiles en proyectos de actuación sobre bienes de interés tecnológico y medioambiental. Al mismo tiempo se exponen los principios básicos de funcionamiento de una técnica de la máxima utilidad en el campo de la ingeniería de proyectos y la toma de decisiones, y se describe su aplicación adaptada a un contexto concreto. Con ello se ejemplifica la utilidad y aplicabilidad de estas técnicas y su capacidad de ser orientadas al estudio de muy distintos ámbitos.
