La maladie d'Alzheimer (MA) peut entraîner dès son stade débutant des troubles du langage à l'origine d'un manque du mot. Ce dernier provient de la dégradation progressive des représentations sémantiques associée à des difficultés d'accès lexical. La Semantic Feature Analysis (SFA) est une thérapie qui vise à activer les traits sémantiques d'items-cibles afin de renforcer et restaurer la connectivité du réseau sémantique et d'améliorer la récupération lexicale. Initialement utilisée dans le cadre des aphasies, nous avons souhaité tester ses effets sur le court terme dans un contexte de MA. Nous avons d'abord repris et adapté le matériel de rééducation de M. Bolze (2018) qui s'inspire de la SFA. Nous avons ensuite proposé la thérapie à quatre patients atteints de la MA au stade léger et présentant un manque du mot, à raison de 3 séances de 30 minutes par semaine durant 3 semaines. Nos résultats témoignent de l'amélioration des temps et des scores en dénomination des items travaillés pour les quatre patients, sans généralisation aux items non traités. Nous avons également constaté une augmentation de la quantité de connaissances sémantiques associées aux items traités. Ces résultats encourageants pourraient ouvrir de nouvelles perspectives concernant la prise en soin des patients atteints de la MA et présentant un manque du mot.

Thickening Fat: Fat Bodies, Intersectionality, and Social Justice seeks to explore the multiple, variable, and embodied experiences of fat oppression and fat activisms. Moving beyond an analysis of fat oppression as singular, this book will aim to unpack the volatility of fat—the mutability of fat embodiments as they correlate with other embodied subjectivities, and the threshold where fat begins to be reviled, celebrated, or amended. In addition, Thickening Fat explores the full range of intersectional and liminal analyses that push beyond the simple addition of two or more subjectivities, looking instead at the complex alchemy of layered and unstable markers of difference and privilege.
