About the Author Carl Hasper is the author of Rimes of Ancient Fables. He was born in the beautiful state of Alabama, named after a tribe of native Americans who once lived there. Carl was an electronics technician in the US Navy, aircraft mechanic, and electrical engineer for a major US airline, and an electrical engineer for an aircraft manufacturer. He lives with his Queen, Barabara, on the emerald isle of Long Island, New York, their home for more than six decades. Its map is sprinkled, like stars, with the names of Native American Tribes. Their brightest star is their daughter, Marianne.

Book Description
In her highly anticipated memoir, Margaret A. Salinger writes about life with her famously reclusive father, J.D. Salinger—offering a rare look into the man and the myth, what it is like to be his daughter, and the effect of such a charismatic figure on the girls and women closest to him. With generosity and insight, Ms. Salinger has written a book that is eloquent, spellbinding, and wise, yet at the same time retains the intimacy of a novel. Her story chronicles an almost cultlike environment of extreme isolation and early neglect interwoven with times of laughter, joy, and dazzling beauty. Compassionately exploring the complex dynamics of family relationships, her story is one that seeks to come to terms with the dark parts of her life that, quite literally, nearly killed her, and to pass on a life-affirming heritage to her own child. The story of being a Salinger is unique; the story of being a daughter is universal. This book appeals to anyone, J.D. Salinger fan or no, who has ever had to struggle to sort out who she really is from whom her parents dreamed she might be.

Carl Sandberg THE DREAM CATCHERS is comprised of an extraordinary series of reports on Bynums experiences and adventures with cowboys, hippies, athletes, gang members, soldiers, actors, dreamers, and people like you. Practical applications of new findings relevant to all our lives are made on interesting issues and questions such as the following: 1. Why is loneliness the most common social problem in the world? 2. Why do some young people become hippies or join violent street gangs? 3. Is physical appearance related to social acceptance and deviant behavior? 4. Were Old Testament cowboys and herdsmen used by God in crisis situations? 5. Are all of us actors on the stage of life? 6. How did Jesus control an unruly crowd disrupting His teaching? 7. What is the formula for achieving your high aspirations? 8. How do the social relationships of soldiers affect their survival in battle? THE DREAM CATCHERS is appropriate for adult readers of all agesbut especially for young people as they plan and prepare for their own future.

Book Description
What are the contemporary definitions of materiality and culture and how do they interrelate? This expansive brief is the starting point for this publication, which draws from some of the definitions presented at the Material Worlds Conference, held at the University of Glasgow in 2005. Following the keynote set by Professor Catherine Belsey, participants debated how it is that the real is negotiated and mediated by cultural practice. Those who contributed to this volume seek to examine how the intangible can be made real through different media and how these influence our experience of the world. Furthermore they also ask what it is about the real that resists cultural transcription. Included in these papers are analyses of attempts to inscribe the soul; the ongoing difficulty of propertizing concepts; and the material, sometimes pornographic, manifestations of capitalism and empire. By the end of the conference a concern was expressed that even the antinomy between culture and the real was something which had largely been discursively or ideologically determined and demanded a fundamental revision. This is something which Professor Peter Hallward highlights when he seeks to outline the position of the real in modern philosophy.
